Hey everyone:) I'm alexandria I'm new to this form and I can't wait to start swimming again in the summer. I've been a fabric tail mermaid in hiding for about a year but I'm ordering my first silicone tail and can't wait to test it out! [emoji3]I hope to meet some new Mer people in the area.

Welcome! What part of Florida are you in?? My training pod is primarily based in the Miami-Dade county. I'm helping them learn the ins and outs of mermaiding, but eventually the training pod will become a mini pod. There aren't many merfolk in South Florida.
That's also great to hear about the silicone tail! I hope to purchase a Mernation tail by April of next year. Swimming in lycra tails has become really hard to upkeep due to constant wear and tear.

I'm in brevard county. I'm trying to decide whether to buy from mernation or finspo tails there are pros and cons to each but it's hard to pick lol. @mermaid Sirenia where are you from?:)

I'd say to pick mernation, in my opinion. :)

Also, great to see another florida mer! I'm from tampa.

If I had more money to spend I would go for finfolk! I'm limiting my spending to 1500 so I can either get a basic tail from mernation or something with a bit more color and design from finspo

I would go for Mernation, they have good reputation and great customerservice. Be sure to read all about Finspo and Merberry here on the forum before deciding.

Yeah I heard merberry was finspo. And her reputation isn't so wonderous, butttt I'm so sad I either have to pick between quality and quantity :/

Go quality, it may sound really boring, but you want your tail to look as good in real life as in pictures.
You're gonna regret it your tail suddenly breaks.

At the same time, no one really knows how the tails from Finspo actually are bad.

Yeah that does pose a good point. I want it to last me at least two to three years + with great care!
And that is another reason I'm still looking at finspo because maybe now "Amanda"( I think that's her name) is making her tails differently... Oh and another question neoprene tails, who makes the most reliable one out there? I heard mertailors tend to stretch and I haven't seen any other good reviews for neoprene tails

Mertailor's stretch because they are not made out of Neoprene, but out of "fabric spacer" (neoprin). Mermaid Morticia makes really nice neoprene tails, but I think maybe a few other mers are getting into making them for others.
