Well, after a couple years on the Mernetwork and even longer than that of loving merfolk (my mom made me a walking costume tail so I could be King Triton for Halloween when I was about 6 or so), I have finally designed and ordered a costume tail. I wanted a fabric tail, both because it would be within my budget and because I wanted to experience the feeling of a fabric tail after years of trips to Weeki Wachee. I had originally planned to go with a particular tailmaker, and had the tail all planned out after hours of reviewing their website. Then, after getting through to them once and getting confirmation that they could make and ship a tail to my specifications, I didn't hear from them in about a month, even after repeated phone calls and email when I had an important question to ask about payment methods. Deciding to cut my losses, I began researching other fabric tailmakers using the review section here, and asked for suggestions on various mer-related Facebook pages. Raina kindly put me in touch with Lotus. We talked about what I wanted, how it might work out, colors, fins, etc, and Lotus exceeded my expectations in creativity and communication, despite her busy schedule. Baring any delays or crazy weather, I should be receiving an amazing, unique fabric tail by NC Merfest!
Now to decide on a mersona.
