Hello! I don't know if this should be in the intro since it's on two topics, so feel free to move it! :) So, I've been on Mernetwork a while and decided that it was time to introduce myself! I'm Sarah, I'm fifteen, and I live in Arizona. I'm slowly making progress towards a silicone tail (Woo! I'll probably post some stuff in a few months!) So I currently have a Finis Wave monofin, but I read about the Hydra and it sounds like that one is better. So I went online and tried to find it, but I couldn't find it anywhere! Does anyone have any links to where I could buy one? Or do you guys think I should keep my Finis Wave to put in my silicone tail? Thanks!!

I just did a search for, "hydra monofin" and got many results. Some of them are:
http://www.sweammer.com/en/menu-principal/monopalme
http://www.scubastore.com/scuba-diving/so-dive-hydra-sweet-pink/31960/p
This is the one I have: http://www.scubastore.com/scuba-diving/so-dive-hydra-clear-flow/31962/p
Here's more by the same manufacturer (I think it's called So Dive, I tend to always look at ScubaStore.com first):

Thank you both so much!!!! :) Unfortunately sweammer doesn't sell to individuals, only to companies, and scubastore costs $50 to ship to me!:jawdrop: I think that's wayyy to expensive for shipping!
The shipping is pretty expensive, but I thought the total price was worth it for my awesome see-through fluke :) Besides, it has waaay better propulsion for me than the Finis Wave or whatever it was I tried (I just kind of flopped around in that one). Plus, this plastic is polypropylene, which is one of the few plastics I feel safe being exposed to/exposing animals to on a regular basis :p And it's pretty durable too, the Hydras I've seen can take quite a beating!

Really? Well I think I might get it then! :D Maybe I'll sell my wave and then buy the Hydra! Thank you so much for the help!!!
*nods* It is a quality monofin - a lot sturdier and neater than it looks on the site. It's also got a pretty decent surface area, and it makes the best flukes, IMO, because you don't have to worry about hiding the yellow rubber, LOL! I also really like the heel straps on them.
You're welcome :) It's a monofin brand that definitely needs more reviews!

Just a note about the shoe-size:
Wave = Triton ;)
Rapid = Hydra ;)
Ah, thanks for that, Fenicia! I don't play with many Finis fins, so I was unsure about that :p

Thanks Fenicia! I really like how the Hydra doesn't have ridges! Do you know if the heel straps come off when you're swimming in the hydra? Because in the wave the heel straps come off when I'm swimming sometimes, even when the heel straps are really tight!

I really love my Triton and use it with all my tails now. I still have my wave, but that one is used for rental of for parties. ;)

are you wearing socks?
The straps on the Rapid (and probs Hydra too) stay put when worn on the naked foot, but start slipping when you have socks on.

That's really smart to rent it out! No, I don't wear socks :( Maybe I just have weird feet!

The straps of my wave fall off when swimming, but not the straps of my Triton. I don't wear socks at all. ;)
