Hi
Sorry I am just wondering as I have seen some fabric tails without a mono could the same be done for the silicon and latex tail with just the dive boots/socks or does this make them to unstable. Sorry if this has already been asked.

As far as I know, Mike Van Daal of FlipTails makes his tails without monofins. You do sacrifice propulsion, but if that's not too important to you then it's up to you.

Thanks for that.

Be careful though, if you get into trouble it can be hard to get out of a tail! Having no propulsion will mean it will be very difficult to get to the surface if you need to breathe. Just don't get hurt :)

currently working on my tail I do not have a monofin but I will be upgrading mine to one. my experience without a monofin was ok but i ended up spraining my left foot when i was swimming, thus being difficult to get to the surface as my foot tensed up. im not saying that, not using a monofin can't be done as it can. but please ask yourself, am i going to use this in the ocean, currents etc? one thing I know for sure is, you get tired easier sometimes i think my legs are going to drop off but i think its a good work out LOL. you do loose propulsion without having some sort of stiffness in the fluke. hope this helps.

My tail too hasn't a monofin inside it's ok but I'll definitely put one in my new one, it's better for swimming and safety.

Its dangerous to swim without a monofin. You will have to have so much dexterity to just to even have a little fun without the monofin. You will glide across a pool with a monofin, and I will just suggest using a monofin. It's very dangerous not too if your not a powerful swimming with the dolphin kick. A bad tail can also catch water and weigh you down. Just be careful.
