Hello Mers
My mom and I have officially opened my (/our) Etsy shop (https://www.etsy.com/de/shop/oceanmiracles)!! :yay:
I only have two listings yet and I know I should have waited to open until I had more items in stock but I just wanted to start now.
I start selling mermaid things and maybe even horse things to raise money for my tail project. :mermaid kiss:
Anyway what do you think?
For now I have the following basic necklaces:

Very cute! There's definitely a market for the more simple designs, so I'm sure you'll do fantastically :) let us know when you have more in stock!

I love cord necklaces with shells! More!!
If I may, I would write the specifications in English, if at all possible. Even though Etsy translated the page from German for me, the drop-down menus (Colors and Finish) are still in German, so if I wanted to buy I would have to translate every option with Google Translate.
Also, you don't explain what "Color" means. Do you paint the shell? Or is it the color of the cord it comes with?
How long is the cord? Do you offer to customize the length?
You say "The strap is adjustable and I'll supply an optional locking mechanism."
What is the optional locking mechanism? Is it a clasp? If so, which kind? Does it cost extra? Which material is it made of? (for allergic people).
Please, don't think this is criticism. It's just questions that came to my mind when reading your listing. Maybe you'd want to put any clarifications on them on the listing so a customer does not have to write to ask them.
Believe me, some people are lazy and won't write, they'll just move to another seller. And some other people would just "assume" things, and upon receiving the package will open a dispute saying the article was "misrepresented" and want their money back.
Also, write your shop Policies! This is very important! For example by EU laws you have to specify return options, and if you don't the customer has up until 2 years to return anything for any reason. This is what I have in my shop: "For customers living in the EU, under new EU law, you have the right to return anything you purchase in a time frame of 14 days since the day you receive your order." Remember that has a store you have some legal things to attend to. Also, how do you ship, waiting time, custom orders, whatever you can think of. This is to protect yourself.
