Mermaid magnetic makeup palette

I finally got around to making one :)
I like the idea of being able to rearrange my shadows into one palette. I also wanted a case that would fit in my small travel bag.
You can buy them, but I prefer to make things myself.

I didn't really follow any plans, so the construction is a bit sloppy.
It's made from cardboard, cardstock, and a fridge magnet. It's surprisingly sturdy!

I made a magnetic flap to close it, but it was too weak. I might use a ribbon or something to hold it shut.

The painting is watercolor, because I had them out already. Pigmentation isn't good on cardstock, but I think it turned out okay, considering.
I'm spraying the whole thing with an acrylic sealer so I can clean it without damaging it.

The whole thing cost nothing except most of my afternoon (because I'm slow.)
I look forward to making a larger one in the future!

Who else uses these things?

Thank you! I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

I hope to do commissions someday- I had a plan last year for setting up an etsy, but I never quite got around to actually doing it.
I've been meaning to post quite a few things I've been doing lately, but I guess I keep forgetting. It's fun to get feedback when I remember :)

Be sure to post if/when you do start, because I would buy something off you in a heartbeat :) even just through paypal if you don't have an etsy (though etsy shops are ridiculously easy to set up!)
