So my girlfriend has always loved mermaids and has always wanted a tail and I kinda have gotten into wanting one as well. Neither of us are great at sewing. We are both strong swimmers and would like some opinions on who would be good to get our first tails from. There's just so many reviews out there.

Well first depends on your budget, what style of tail you want, and materials. There a lot of tailors out there and each have their own ares of expertise. While looking for my tail maker I've found Merman Alex, Mernation is really good about custom making tails to look like your design, and even a few new tail makers are willing to work around your price if you tell them what you can afford they'll work with you.

I would recommend going to the classified section, say how much you have to spend on a tail and post your designs and see who offers. If you have no real design in mind Finfolk, Magictail, and other general tail makers are a great way to get started.

My first tail is from Fin Fun and I would 100% recommend them, they make amazing pre-made fabric tails and make their own monofin.
From what I have seen on this site if you are looking for silicone I would go for Mernation as they are really good.
