View Full Version : Inexpensive Underwater MP3 Players
So I was looking through a link my dad sent me to pick out a holiday present on, and I found some swimmer's MP3 players for sale! They're on sale right now as well!
This is the one I was hoping to get: http://www.gearbest.com/mp3-mp4-players/pp_114.html

Thanks for this, Miyu! The waterproof MP3 player would be perfect for bringing music directly into my musical goldfishes' tank. I have used small speakers in a ziploc bag, but this would be easier!
Oh Galene, that warms my heart more than you can imagine! I hadn't thought of using them for that purpose, but it makes me happy that your amazing fishies will get to hear the music better, and without plastic bags in there too!

I've used my Swimp3 to give my Beta fish musical hours every now and then :)

I couldn't help myself! I got one! Thanks Miyu!
No problem! I thought all you lovely mers would appreciate some inexpensive underwater gear (that stuff can get expensive)! Even when not on sale, their prices are pretty decent :)
Iona, how cute! He looks like he enjoys it! :D
Which one did you end up getting, PearlieMae?

I got the first one, the one you want! I looked at the others, but that one looks best!
That's what I thought - as much as I'd like the one-piece style to build a headdress on, the style I picked looks the least like I can break it :p

:cry:Miyu, why you gotta be so evil? so many cool toys to choose from there
I know right??? My dad sent me there to pick out a watch, and I was like "Hmmm, inexpensive electronics, I wonder what they have that's waterproof" :p SO I had to bug him to see if he could get the MP3 player instead (I'm pretty sure he did, because he hasn't asked me what my watch choices were since I sent him the link to the player)
They've even got waterproof lights. I want some for a tank :D Of course, they didn't have an actual waterproof swimmer's/diving watch in my price range, which I really wanted... Those things are expensive!

anyone have any idea how long the sale is going to last? or how to find out? I really want one of the waterproof MP3 but the soonest I could get it is Tuesday (but more likely Thursday/Friday)

Is there a thread somewhere discussing underwater camera options?

This Finis Neptune (http://www.amazon.com/FINIS-1-30-060-Neptune/dp/B00ACP3OOM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417473431&sr=8-1&keywords=finis+neptune) is a bit expensive, but I have it, and I am happy with it. It is unclear to me why so many people have issues with it, while others (like myself) have not had any.
I can answer questions about it, if anybody has them.
Ideally that's the one I want too... That's a bit out of both mine and my family's price range right now, though, LOL! :p

Thanks for the thread Miyu! I've been thinking about something like this. But... I have to figure out if I want music or if I want more quiet swimming (both?) :p

I have to figure out if I want music or if I want more quiet swimming (both?) :p
Iin my case, I have both kinds. And I can tell that my body prefers rock/up-beat music. When I am listening to something peaceful like Enya, I get tired very fast. When I am listening to Chad Kroeger (Into the night) or metal (mainly Avantasia), I get excited, I swim fast and I feel exultant when I get to the other side of the pool in one breath under the water.
I am working on a playlist to keep me excited most of the time with some peaceful bits for resting ;)
