*feel free to move this if it's in the wrong place*
So, recently I found an etsy shop called FinFunMermaid. They have some sales and reviews, but their tails don't look like FinFun's... Anyone know if it's really owned by FinFun?
Here is a link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/FinFunMermaid?ref=shopinfo_shophome_leftnav

It looks like the reviews were written in 2012, so maybe this is how finfun started out. It does seem a little fishy though.

Good idea, it's possible.

you could search 'Karen Browning' since that is the owner of the etsy. If she pops up on the regular finfun site as well then it's likely, as Mer-gal said, that the etsy is how they started out.

It looks like it is under new management by the same family:

If for any reason the link isn't working, here it is!
HOW FIN FUN MERMAID BEGANLearn About Fin Fun Mermaid! How did Fin Fun get started making mermaid tails? Meet Grandma Karen who started the mermaid craze and find out about Fin Fun's tradition of giving back to children's charities. In 2009 my granddaughter, Emily, asked me repeatedly to design and make her a mermaid tail. We had a challenge, Emily loved mermaids, she wanted a tail, and she wanted her Grandma to make one. Having sewn for over 50 years, I laughed and said, "I don't know how to make mermaid tails"...well she soon showed me that by ingenuity and working together, we could do it. It proved so popular as she and her sister, Sarah, swam in them that soon her friends were asking where they could get their very own tail. So thus began, "Fin Fun Mermaid Tails." That little bit of fun that every girl dreams of being a mermaid. We have been delighted to be a part of making dreams come true for so many little (and bigger) mermaids. Even now, after so much growth we are proud that all of our suits, costumes and monofins are still made here in the USA.http://www.finfunmermaid.com/media/wysiwyg/grandma-karen-sig.jpg

Wow I totally guessed that that was how it started. *sigh* if only my guesses were so accurate when I am asked a question I don't know on a test.
