Yesterday, I put money in the ATM for a different bank, but I was four dollars off, so I had to go again today. I tried putting money in the bank again and guess what the ATM did.
It took my money, and made weird noises for half an hour. We waited, and then it said it had a malfunction, gave me my card back, but not the money. It didn't put it on the card either, and 24 dollars lost may not seem like a lot, but it is to me. I went in the bank, and they just gave us a phone number, we called, and it will take two months for them to put my money on the card.
I just ended up borrowing money from my mom, because the ATM ate my money, and the bank couldn't just return it.
At least in the end, I still got to buy what I wanted..
I still don't understand why they couldn't just give it back, surely they could check the logs, (they should have logs on an ATM, right? Or at least a camera.. ) or notice that the ATM was 24 dollars over.
