This week I received my Monster Clay in the mail
I decided to make some test scales out of the clay, I then poured plaster of paris over the top
When it was time to lift the plaster off I found it was sticking to the mdf board I had placed the scales on and when I tried to get the plaster of it cracked into pieces. There were a few bubbles on the scales but they were barely noticeable
How do I solve this problem ?

Put Vaseline all over where you are pouring the plaster. This will act as a release agent. For the clay fluke mold you won't need to use Vaseline. LOTS of Vaseline is used! I bought three of the big jugs (cashier thought my mom and I were nuts), I only have 1 1/2 left.

Are you casting a silicone or latex tail?
If you're doing latex, just make sure you get all the Vaseline off your mold before you cast any latex.
Good luck with your tests!

It might! Just clean your molds really well.

ive had an extremely light coat of Vaseline in my molds and the silicone cured fine, but please do small tests once you've cleaned your molds. you don't want to wast product.

yep that is for smooth on's dragon skin. the mold max 27T is between 250. 280 depending where you buy it from. the reason its so expensive here is because of the custom duty business have to pay to import it into aus, so the business has to make a profit.
