MerFest Dreams dissolved

Today I went to ride a horse at a new barn and was thrown when I took off my vest. I hit hard in the area where the spine, hip, and pelvis all sort of meet and have a stabbing pain up and down my leg. I can't walk and am in a wheelchair right now. We are awaiting X-rays of what is wrong... All right before MerFest. I have spent so much money and it looks like I may not be able to go, not if I am wheelchair bound. I am not 100% certain yet that there is no way I can go, but it is not looking good. I may have MerFest tickets up for sale for entry, the under the sea ball, and the breath hold class.

feeling very upset right now. Stupid legs; I should have been born with a tail!

Oh wow, I'm really sorry to hear that! D: As bad as being wheelchair bound from pain is, I'm glad you're not paralyzed! I hope you have a speedy recovery and can work something out for the convention. :c

Good news and bad news. Bad news, I'm not going to MerFest. :(. Good news! Nothing broken! Just pulled ligaments/muscles and spasming muscles. Will have to dose myself with pain meds and do some PT on it at home, but I should be back to gentle normal in a couple of weeks... No permanent damage. Hopefully with pain meds I will be walking in a few days! I have to stay drugged up and take it easy and do PT work, though, so no MerFest this year. *teardrop*

you know what, though? I'm gonna look on the bright side: I'm alive, I'm not paralyzed, and nothing's broken! With horse falls it can be much worse--especially since I hit spine first.

Oh no! I'm so happy that it's not too bad an injury though, I've had horses and yes the injuries can be very severe, so YAY so happy you're not hurt terribly! It really sucks that you can't go to Merfest, however... (boohiss)

As a fellow equestrian I'm so sorry that happened to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery! It really sucks how major accidents can happen so suddenly. :(

Thank goodness you aren't paralyzed! As someone with a bulged disc in the same area, I can sympathize with how frustrating and painful it can be. Take care of yourself and get well soon. As they say, fall off the horse, get right back on :) lots of healing energy your way, chica.
