Has anyone here read it? I've been having another round of giddiness about the books after getting to work in a museum again, even if it's just volunteering.

If you have, what book is your favorite? One of the main art books? One of the YA books, or one by Mr. Foster?

I must admit they all kind of are my favorite and have a place of honor on my shelf. xD

DINOTOPIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I have only ever read the first book, I had it as a child, and I hope someday to be able to buy the whole lot of them. James Gurney is probably my favorite painter of all time! I adore your dino shelf <3

I just remember Bix, and wishing to god I could find a way to have a pet protoceratops.

I bought the first two books on trips to America when I was little. I f*cking loved them (even though I couldn't actually read them, because they were in English and all). I remember bringing them with me to visit my cousin because her first husband (and later her second husband) could read English. So I would bring my books and force these poor guys to read them to me. But really, I just liked the pictures, that's why I bought the books to begin with.

Oh yes, the artwork is absolutely beautiful. <3

I adore your dino shelf <3
Thanks! It's not as full as it could be because as a kid I was fond of mysterious dirt piles and left my favorite dinosaurs there overnight and came back and the dirt pile was gone. They'd been claimed by construction somewhere. xD

I've only seen the movie, and read some kind of revamped version with pictures.

I am a dinotopia fan myself... I loved the Skybax riders, and there was one of the young adult books where a long-haird boy with a plesiosaur friend is mistaken for a mermaid.

Dolphin Watch is one of my favorites! (okay, I can't help it, it's mostly about swimming)

Have you read the Road to Chandara? That came out within the last few years.
Other than that, I totally agree. There need to be more books!

Did you know that James Gurney put out a how to art book about his style of Imaginative Realism? One of the illustrations there shows a mermaid riding a plesiosaur through sunken ruins.

I haven't been able to get my hands on any of his art books, but it sounds like it's worth looking into.

I hope we'll get to see that tail idea! You've got me all excited!

What are some popular YA books that you think are worth reading? smash karts (https://smashkartsio.com) ask.

Whether it's the detailed artwork, the adventurous tales in YA novels, or the deep dives into established Tunnel Rush (https://tunnelrush2.org) lore by authors like Alan Dean Foster, each book can hold a special place for different reasons.
