So far, I have found a gallon of dragon skin for a total of $198, that includes the shipping. I was also referred to using Eco Flex? I know Dragon Skin is kind of the top of the line silicone to use for tails, and I am willing to purchase it if I need to, but an acquaintance I met recently while buying my clay and practice resin kit....which was definitely serendipitous (We were checking out at the store, and he came in before we left and turns out! He is a professional with silicone's and sculpting etc.) He said that using Power Mesh and putting it over the scale board then pouring a small layer of silicone over it would still make a pliable workable tail. I won't have the funds for the silicone for about a month or so. I finished one mold so far, and it's for the ankle fins. I will attach a picture.

PearlieMae is the one whose particular thread helped me make the mold :D
I had already made a template for my fluke, but I have decided against it. I am going to order a Minos Monofin and it is a tad bit large, so I will have to rethink the design.
But if anyone has ever used or knows how to use Power Mesh! I would love a few tips.

I am pretty sure I could find it at Joann's Fabrics. I still need to be able to afford the silicone for my tail =/ FireMaid and I have been in contact and she'll, luckily, be able to help me out when she finds the time. Luckily...we live in the same city. Wish me luck!

How much does it cost at Joanne's? I dunno why....it just looks funny with an "e" :/ not the point...is it easy to use? I mean, I know it's basically....one layer of silicone, add power mesh, add another layer of silicone.

I did my first tail without and the second with - I HIGHLY recommend using it.
I always buy it from Joanne's on sale or with a coupon. If you sign up for the text or the email coupons, you should get a good discount straight away.

Simple really but if you have help from someone to lay the mesh on the wet silicone, it helps. Once the mesh touches the silicone, it really doesn't want to let go. So, you want to set it down right the first time. lol

I've been considering using Eco-flex for my fins. I use it on my starfish. The Dragonkin is just gonna be more durable so for a tail I would go with that.
