This has probably been covered? I tried searching, but y'all know how it goes!!!
In your experience what is the best underwater glue situation?!?!?!
I'd like to use silicone star fish pasties for my upcoming, super preggo, mermaid photo shoot, but I don't know the best way to stick them on!!
What do y'all think?

Telesis or pros aide both work fantastically underwater!

Looking up Telesis and pros aide now!
Spirit gum doesn't work.
You think eyelash glue will stick silicone to skin? I use it for face jewels!
I have some pretty big preggo nipples, that would be a lot of eyelash glue :)

Ask the local hospital pharmacy about prosthetic adhesive. There should be something to help stick silicone appliances to skin. There's lots of people with artificial noses and other parts that need to be glued on. They might be able to direct you. I wish I knew the name of the stuff! Save the starfish reveal for after the conversation is over! :D

Don't use eyelash glue on pasties :) us buresque dancers usually use wig tape (the BEST for dry pasties), but I'd love to know what works well underwater.

Has anyone tried denture adhesive? It's made to be used in a wet environment, but I don't know if it will stick to silicone.

I'd really love to know the answer to this as well! My current top frustrates me endlessly and I was considering shouting out to someone on here who wants an extra 30-40 bucks to make me a pair of silicone shell/octopus/starfish/idontcareanything pasties. But even if I did have my hands on them this very minute, I wouldn't know what to stick them on with. At first I thought spirit gum as well. Medical adhesive sounds the most promising. Anyone able to go do a test on this??

Atlantis told me that she uses medical grade adhesive on her pasties and they don't budge.

I tried the denture adhesive. Don't bother, it doesn't work at all.

I'll second what Maressa said ;) And Atlantis' medical adhesive suggestion is a great one too.
As someone who wears pasties quite often as a burlesque performer, I became allergic to spirit gum very early on, and had to start using double sided tapes.
Toupee tape is one I use, but I've discovered that if I'm performing somewhere that is very hot or humid, it doesn't stay on as securely. Neither did spirit gum, it was worse and literally melted off me depending on the weather. Luckily I never lost a pastie on stage though!
In these cases, I use double sided carpet tape. Sounds horrific, I know! But it works and there are many different strengths to choose from.
I've done acts where I pour water and even champagne on myself, and they stay on. For swimming, I need to experiment more, but I suspect one of the stronger (non-fiberglass) carpet tapes would be secure. The trick is to create as tight a seal between the pastie and you, so water doesn't leak in and peel it away.
As with the medical adhesive or anything as strong, use an oil base remover to take them off gently, so you don't take skin off with the pastie :$
Oh, and be careful with any removers if you are using silicone pasties.

I was Mystique for Dragon Con and my prosthetics were all Dragonskin Silicone. We used a mix of Pros Aid and Skin Tite (Smooth-on's adhesive) to apply it. The Pros Aid peeled off all night just from sweat.... Weird. But the Skin Tite worked wonderfully and it took some effort to get off at the end of the night.

Yess! Because Atlanta, lol! I was at Dragon Con last year, too, and gave up on the pointy ears for my old-school Star Trek Romulan costume.
The heat and humidity was just too brutal for the medical adhesive I used (I can't even remember what brand now). Even though the tips of my ears weren't sweating under them, they still kept slipping off.
Thanks Rogue, I'll try the Skin Tite this year :-)
