Have you guys seen this TV movie? Its pretty lame and the plot is idiotic, but it does have a couple cool scenes, particularly at the end.

Awww man. I remember I recorded this when it first came out on tv. I was freakin obsessed with it. I like how they incorporated the idea of marine conservation with finding mermaids. It was cute.

Yeah I watched it on Youtube a while back. It was a little nostalgic in that no tv shows/movies are made like this anymore.

I watched it when if first came out too. I like ocean conservation, but it was pretty cheesy. Also it was pretty weird that the merfolk live in the waters of Australia, but they have american accents. Its kinda distracting.

Also, there's a line from this movie that's absolutely amazing because its so insane. When Sabrina offers to treat fin for the illness she's contracted Fin says she'd rather die that have Sabrina use magic on her. And Sabrina has some medicine and she goes, "Healing the sick is still done the old fashioned way. No magic."

Hmm... a bunch of people do have, to use a polite term for their attitude, "concerns" about medicines and their effects on the soul of the individual, particularly if they're part of a secluded small community (and if they, like Fin, have reasons to believe in magic). I think it is pretty crazy, too, but it comes from lack of understanding and fear of the unknown, so it is somewhat understandable. As for Sabrina's line, yeah, it was pretty dumb.

That said, I love the tails in this movie, and the merman was pretty hot.

Anyone been able to trace to the company who made the tails for this film?

Scott Michaelson, he was in Neighbours for a very long time!

I found this. Maybe someone can make out which tail maker it is.

I do believe they were made/designed by Robert Short http://robertshort.com/tv/tvgallery.html
