Oh do I need some advice!

So I'm starting the scary process of making myself a silicone tail. (dragon skin)

I need some advice on my monofin. I have a wave that I modified with duct tape (Gorilla tape brand).

I worry that if I use my monofin for my tail, the silicone won't adhere or cure properly to the fin.
I've thought of maybe drilling holes through the monofin so that the silicone can adhere to itself and lock the fin in.

If anyone can help with advice, or leading me somewhere that I missed, that would be fantastic.

I'm not sure, but it's possible that the tape could cause cure issues with the silicone. Definitely test it first on a small piece. Another issue with the Finis Wave is that you might have trouble hiding the straps, they can kind of get in the way.
