Does anyone know how to make a swimmable monofin? I had the idea of using the rubber puzzle piece flooring thingy's as a monofin but that backfired.

I made one. I took a plastic containment pit liner and cut it into the shape that I want. Then I took some fabric and taped it on so I had a foot pocket. At first it wasn't thick enough so I made a secon cut out and taped it to the first one. You have to be sur to seal any possible holes between the two peices. So just try to find some good sturdy plastic. You may need to use a circle saw to cut it. Check hardware stores like Home Depot for some sturdy materials like that. Hope this helps!

YES! they kinda suck somtimes with the nip slips BUT if you do it yourself and get shells that fit properly then you should be fine! also make sure its really tight before you get in the water. straps expand in water. so yeah!
      SEA you later!

That is exactly what you do. There isn't a trick to it. You sew on each sequin one at a time

Yup... Thousands of tiny stitches, on bit at a time.

how do I attatch silicone rubber to a finis monofin? I was thinking about drilling a few holes in it so the silicone can seep through but I don't want to damage my monofin beyond repair

Put on some music or a good movie, sit down, and sew sew sew. I've done this for hundreds of tutus and theater costumes, and it is worth the headache in the end.

A shell top is of course swimmable all depending on how it is put together and made. Some glues will not hold up once submerged in water. So that would be your main concern. Unless of course you sewed your embellishments on, then it all depends on how securely you attached everything. I made a clam shell top using a strapless bra, real clam shells (bought at Michael's) beads, small assorted shells and rhinestones. I attached everything with E6000, that’s industrial strength glue (found at Walmart, Michaels and Hobby Lobby etc...). I can vouch for E6000 as it has held up on my top fantastically.
