protecting your mold?

I am going to be starting on my scale/fluke molds soon and I know its going to take a while as I don't have much free time.

I was wondering what would be safe to lay over my molds that would keep off contaminates and dust yet won't cause trouble for silicone later on?

Also, I was wondering what kind of stir sticks work with silicone?

Use fabric. Old sheet, blanket, a plastic bag will work, too... Stir stick? I use a spatula from the dollar store. Silicone isn't THAT delicate.
