Since I looked all over online and couldn't find anything to show the actual size difference between the finis foil and finis rapid, I thought I would share a photo here with everyone. I was shocked when I got my new rapid this weekend and laid the 2 side by side. All I can say is "wow". The swimming experience between the 2 is just as different as their sizes. As far as I'm concerned, there is no comparison at all. They are totally different in every way.

Yep! The Foil is the smallest of "pro" monofins. By pro, I mean proper beginner monofins.
Oh my goodness, I can't thank you enough for posting this. I own a Foil and love it, and I had to get a Rapid for the tail I'm making for a friend. But I'd never seen one in person so I didn't quite know what to expect. The difference is amazing! I could fit two Foils in one Rapid! That's SO helpful to know in advance! Thank you again!!!

I have a foil in my fabric tail but I've noticed that I can't swim that fast in it.... now that I see both monofins together I kinda understand hahahaha

Since I am required to have 2 separate fins if I want to swim at the local indoor pool come fall/winter, I am considering selling my foil so I can put that towards another rapid. I struggled with the foil. I have a bad leg (am disabled) and the foil was exhausting and caused me a lot of pain, required me to use my legs and I wasn't able to do a proper dolphin kick with it. I have always been a strong swimmer but now with my leg disability I have to limit the use of my legs and especially anything that requires bending the knees... which is why I have been pursuing the mermaiding. The dolphin kick isn't supposed to use the legs/knees to power the stroke. I thought the problem was me, but it turned out that it was because I was using the wrong fin for me. I went out to me neighbor's pool with the rapid this weekend and the proper dolphin kick movement came naturally (where it did not with the foil) and I was able to swim for a full hour without feeling exhausted or hurting my leg.
This just proved to me that a huge part of this kind of swimming is about having the proper fin for your specific needs, which is hard to figure out if you're a newbie and can't even find any side by side photos comparing these fins to each other.
I'm glad this info is able to help others. I could have saved myself a lot of hassle, money, time, and stress if I had known a few months ago what I know now.
