I haven't seen any tutorials so I figured I would ask.
I picture doing it the same way you do the fluke, but side and dorsal fins aren't perfect mirror images, so I would have to make a cast of both sides...
Is that all I have to do, or is there a much easier way that I'm missing?
PS everyone has given so much great advise! My tail is really coming together!
Yeah you sculpt each side and cast those twice. Then depending on which side of the tail your putting it, you flip it.

I try this method but when I put them together I always get really nasty, visable seams. My molds are almost completely identical for each side but they never seem to seam right. Any suggestions?
its just a matter of practice, i think.
