waterproof paint for top?

hi everyone-maybe this information is posted somewhere else--if it indeed is, I can not find it...
Does anyone know of a good paint for natural shell tops? I am hoping to paint some lion's paw shells for a top in the next few weeks and I'm looking for some good quality waterproof paint. Thanks so much in advance!

Acrylic paint works well for all sorts of stuff. I have used it on shirts, jeans etc. It holds up really well. :)
