extended mermen tail
Hi guys whats up?
I'm starting to make an extended merman tail, this is the drawing of my tail:
Attachment 19201
I made my flexible rod of a pvc tube, and i'm going to make the fluke with liquid plastic, and just for the most blue part of the fluke.
I'm not going to use dragonskin or alex plus, i'm going to use a normal silicone.
can give me tips? and how i made te mold of my legs with plaster? thank you.

Something a little cheaper and easier to make for your legs instead of a plaster cast would be a duct tape mannequin. Just wrap an old sheet around your legs, then very carefully get someone to wrap duct tape around your legs. 2-3 layers should work, then you carefully cut up the side and tape it back together. Then you just fill it with cotton batting, or even crumpled news paper.
As for using silicone, just make sure that you are using a skin safe silicone. Most silicones sold in tubes aren't skin safe and can lead to getting chemicals in your blood stream with use, not to mention breaking down very quickly in the water.

thank you! I found a silicone save and a question, I'm goin to use neoprene and silicone, how i costure the neoprene into my feets?

As long as it isn't a thick Neoprene (2mm or less) you can sew it on a sewing machine.
-
thank you! when i start i put photos
-
Are you going to sew it by hand or machine? Be careful on the type of thread you use
-
with machine, because is more easier, I put a zipper on the top of the neoprene to hide with a dorsal fin.

I watch behind the scenes hahahahahaha
