Have you tried looking at the member map at the top, It should say if there is any one nearby.
oh thanks :D
You're welcome :)
and i just found out im the only person in ireland
Sorry to hear that :(
There may be others from Ireland, but not everyone puts in the information to be shown on the map.
ya, but it means l won't be able to find anyone from here :P
Did you seriously just change your location to "Currently the only person on here from Ireland :("??? I apologize but that's funny, man. Look at it this way- you can say you are the FIRST person from Ireland on here! I'm sure some Irish people will join mernetwork soon. :)
and of course now if someone else searches for mermaids in Ireland you won't come up.
At least you can own the title of "Irelands First Mermaid"! :)
Ah yes I know how you feel, I seem to be the only Welsh Mer on here as well...and the only one I know of haha...
But of course I have the pro of being able to get into England without having to cross any water to find the rest of my pod! Hopefully soon mermaiding may become something a bit more popular over in these parts of the world! though I have doubts as many people find the fact we have poor weather and that not many (or in my case...not a single one) pools will allow swimming with fins yet alone a mermaid tail as a turn off.
I wish you luck in finding Irish merpeople! :) perhaps they'll emerge sooner than you think!
Ciara I know how you feel. There aren't any merfolk close to me at all
I do not live in Ireland but my family immigrated from Ireland recently. :) From Ballycastle. I was raised with loads of Irish traditions and many of my family even speak Gaelic. They wanted to put me in a Gaelic school here but it never happened and it made me sad :( My grandmother passed away a few years ago now and I have her ashes. I'd love to take them there :) I was born in Canada but grew up with so much Irish tradition I really wish I could see Ireland!
It's so sad you didn't learn the language. I speak Irish myself, as I went to a Gaelscoil for 8 years (just went into secondary school in 2014!) and I love speaking my native language :3
Hi Cadhla! Just replied to you in another post but not sure whether you'll see it - I live in England but my family is Irish and I was actually recently contacted by a journalist from the Irish Enquirer who's writing a piece on the rise of mermaiding in Ireland, apparently it's increasingly popular and there's a mermaid school run by Freedive Ireland in a place called Mermaid Cove, in Sligo, which you might want to check out to find other mers :)
Your not a alone I am a Irish I do mermaiding
I'm not in Ireland, but I'm half Irish, and I'd love to see the country someday! My father's side came to the US in 1849, and my mother is still learning more about what part of Ireland she came from. We're all from New Jersey, though, so we're a crazy, party-going bunch [emoji5]
Best wishes to you and your pod search!
