Haha, yes I did receive my tail and I adore it. I took it for a swim with Mermaid Harmony and I'm going for another swim this Friday with her and Coradion. Sadly, I didn't make an unboxing video. I got too excited and tore the box open the second it got here and no one was around to film it. Sorry guys. I can make a video showing the details when I get back from Jersey for the holidays. As for pictures I posted one in the photoshoot thread. But I'll repost here. I didn't get many pictures. Just a couple my friend snapped and I've gotten kind of fat so I'm feeling self-conscious about posting anything. Anywho here's a few from the first swim. Harmony is lovely as always. Damn her. Raven made a video of my top public. You can see it by going to raina mer on fb as I can't share it from my phone. Everything is still drying so my awesome friend john jay is bringing it from Florida for me! To merfest. We were gonna mail it to christian but its been cold and just taking too long for everything to dry. Now we don't have to stress :)
I think its a great evolution of rapidash. Originally we were going to go crazy with fins but I needed this tail to be super practical. I even intentionally had it made a bit looser so I can get in and out of it faster while wearing tights. Less chance of me damaging it gig after gig that way.

So it's a frecklefish?!? lol Actually what caught my eye both for the top (I like how the strap goes around your neck!) and the tail was that its colour scheme isn't too far removed from my own! I'm glad I'm going for a more sparkly/shiny/metallic flamelike pattern, big side fins and a koi fluke; that way we'll be able to tell our fiery-themed fishies apart! ;) :mermaid kiss:
I quite like the uniqueness of your fluke, though; it feels a bit like a cross between the Angler (though less deep-sea raggedy) and the Peacock Mantis Shrimp. It looks really cool too!
I believe it's the calpyso fluke.
It sounds like our designs were pretty close with my original one!! lol great canadian minds think alike ;) but I am happy with it simpler :) I know for some people they wont see the point because I stayed close to the original tail I own, but I didnt want to give up this colour scheme. It's iconic for who I am locally. If I buy another tail in the future I'll get a diff colour ;)
Well, you've made a career out of mermaiding and know exactly what is needed for any given fishy situation. As for me, things have become so complicated of late that I'm not quite sure when and where I'll be able to swim in my tail, so I figure that I might as well have it be my dream tail no matter how extravagant it is...lol
Hey Raina do have any idea where i can finds some pictures of Raven's Lionfish tail.
I've seen in in a video but can't seem to find a pic of it.
Also love the new tail Raven made for you and the top is perfection. the touch of blue with that gem in the center really accents it well and makes the rest of the colors just pop.
She isn't finished with the lion tail. I think its only been photographed the one time. Its posted here a few pages back. ;)

Does it cost extra for the Dragon Scales and how much is a custom Fluke again? About $300-400 (varying depending on complexity of course)?

Can you guys tell me at about what day did you get your first picture of your tail? Raven said she'd send me a photo as soon as she got back from vacation but I haven't got any�� and I'm at at 210 days and really excited, nervous, feeaking out,ecstatic etc...... ☺️ Thanks!
I ordered my tail Feb 2 and got a photo Nov 16 on my birthday ;) ;p she takes a while sometimes! When I checked in with her this week lots of issues with delayed curing and painting dry because of cold weather.
Well if it helps I'm at day 250something and I still haven't gotten a pic either, nor is my tail at paint stage as you mentioned in an earlier post yours was (even though you didn't order until July which is 2 months later than I did, which seems weird, but my tail is somewhat complex so perhaps that accounts for her being ahead on yours). She emailed about three weeks ago saying she was just attaching my extra fins and would send a photo of that before begining paint. Still waiting for that pic.Quote:

I wouldn't be too worried :) I ordered mine is Early August, so I think I'm technically after Annika but my tail hasn't even been started yet because although it's simple in design I asked Raven to try out a new technique on my tail, so I'm expecting it to take longer than average.
I checked in with her today and she's still working away she didnt even know it was christmas this week lol. Some of the orders she's finishing up are sets so she's making tops and hair pieces etc that go with them.
I wasn't complaining, I promise since I'm only like 130 days in or something I'm still not expecting mine for ages (in my head it's coming around July next year). I was just trying to assure polyhymnia that her tail isn't being pushed behind others or anything like that.
