were you the one swimming with her? if so how was it!?
Her lion fish tail is amazing. Raven's underwater abilities are as impressive as her tail-building skills. Those caves are nerve racking (Our flukes kept getting caught in the caves underwater and the current makes it difficult to dislodge them haha. Exciting though!)
started a thread for my new tail http://mernetwork.com/index/showthre...944#post165944

How exciting! I love how animated you are and how palpable your level of giddiness. :D
Other than mine being more featherlike (angelic rather than lionfish-inspired), mine shall be similar...but even bigger! :swoon:
Also, Raina, I commented on your tail in your own thread, but I also like your mermaid-scale-style cat/jump/bodysuit and am eager to mermaid with you in person! :mermaid kiss:
So excited! Got an email from Raven yesterday. My tail is almost finished being build. She is working on the fins now. Hmmmm can't wait! So happy!!!!
I feel like 100 people have asked you this but how long was your wait Raina?
I ordered mine 26 may 2014. She already told me the production time would be 200 till 300 days. The longer it takes the harder it gets!
So very true. The anticipation is built up even more with each update received because you know it is that much closer.
Oh Raina! The new tail is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I'm so happy for you!! :D
Sooooo... I'm almost past 100 days waiting (and trough I know it will be alot more) I'm already getting exited for my tail! Maybe becouse it's the start of the new year? ;)
That must be it Ariel haha. And hey! Already 100 days passed!
So I've been thinking about maybe asking to add heel fins to my tail, but I'm really up in the air about it. On one hand I keep seeing all these people saying how great heel fins are etc, but at the same time I love the simple, classic look of the Koi tail and am worried another set of fins may ruin it. So I'm wondering what you guys think? My tail is basically the koi tail body but with a Merbella fluke and with my own colour design (that looks nothing like a koi). Do you think a set of heel fins would work? Or would it be overdoing the simplistic beauty of the Koi tail?
Personally, I really like heel/ankle fins because they help hide your heels and I think they're pretty nice looking too :) As for the simplicity issue... well, it wouldn't look as simplistic anymore, but I don't think it would be completely ruined either, and you likely wouldn't see them very much from the front; only from the back and when swimming.
Raven is such a sweetie! Se said that whilst she's building my tail (which she's going to start soon!) she's going to send me pictures before she attaches the fins to see if I like them. She really is the nicest person ever!
I think Raina's new tail is a great example of how far Raven has come - she is an inspiration at the very least!
I personally love extra fins, they're so pretty!
On a side note I'm on day 126 and im going crazy lol
I'm on 150 :) Half way haha.
So, remember the top Shimmygoddess was sending back? Raven has received it and sent me an invoice to buy it!! Waiting til the 15th to buy and then it's mine *excite*
DAMMIT I TRIED TO BUY IT FROM HER. CURSE YOU.

I'm on day 231 and it just gets harder with every minute but any day now right?
Dilemma:
So i definitely have more than enough funds in my savings for a Merbella tail with all the added extras (2pair of fins+uv+glitter). subtotal comes up to $3025 before tax and shipping fees.
I DEFINITELY WANT a new tail because my silver-rosegold merberry tail died.
(Rest in alexplus pieces, Sirena... Alex to Alex, Plus to Plus. Amen.) But also because i may be picking up work as a mermaid and i cannot parade around looking like a diseased mermaid.
The issue here is if I get the tail now, I won't have enough funds to pay mortgage/bills/groceries/furniture for our new house we're getting in June.
I've also thought about just getting a basic tail, with only a few of the extras i would want (1 pair of fins and UV splatter). Total for that is $2825 so it'll only just eat up half of my savings and there's still wiggle room for shipping and tax.
Thoughts?
i am not in your position but if i was i would go for the performance because this is truly a once in a life time experience and you can probabaly cut back on food expenses a little and save a lot of money( when my family was going through a rough money patch we would just eat veggis and we saved so much) i know how scary it is not having enough money but with the very little knowledge i have of your situation i would say you should buy a tail. also once you purchase it you have quite a bit of time to organize the money for shipping. good luck!
Thankyou annika!
New dilemma: Which tail to go with?
Attachment 26522
Both would be incredible designs! Which do you think would suit your mersona/self better? I think the first would look amazing with the angler fluke. Both would, but the first just...ah. Beautiful. :)
...both o-o i actually had more designed but i narrowed it down to these two. i rethought the dark blue one because everyone has a blue tail.
Self, the galaxy tail. Mersona, the seaglass tail.
(looking at it again actually, i forgot to add a white underside for the seaglass tail.)
I like both designs! :)
like I said before, i'm at my 100 days mark and should you guys want to see my design? Or should I wait a 100 days more? Lol Attachment 26525
i want to seee <3
Hey seaglass, if you didn't live all the way in canada (I know shipping can be rough!) I would suggest buying a basic because you could always send it back to raven for additions later... but being all the way out there, you would probably save more going all out at once. Don't leave yourself in the hole though, finances follow us for our entire life. @_@ I would start the severe saving plans now and make sure you at least have the funds for mortgage. Also, Paypal has a awesome credit system you can check out (if you haven't already!). My paypal credit limit is high enough to buy a tail outright and there is no interest for 6 months I think? Maybe longer. Anyway, maybe pay half on a paypal credit line and half with the money you have saved. Just throwing out ideas. :3
good news is i have until this summer. once we contact the banks in february, we'll know what mortgage we have and i'll do all the calculations then.
You can get a tail without extra fins and send it back later. I did it that way for my rapidash
I thought Raven didn't make her basic tails anymore? Or are you meaning something else?
I think she means a simpler performance tail, with less extras. I got confused for a bit too until I went back and re-read it :)
Haha yeah thats what I meant. It slipped my mind that she had made a type of tail referred to as such. XD
Be aware also that the new translucent waist is a $150 upgrade.
And I'm assuming when you say tax you mean the import tax your country charges when you get it? Because Raven's prices are GST (not sure if that's the abbreviation everywhere sorry) included. And if that's the case, remember you'll have 200-300 days to save for that, so you won't need it until August at the earliest, but more likely November-ish.
Another thing, (I'm not aware of your situation so I'm going off the assumption you're just going to email and hope for the best) is the actual chance of getting an order spot with Raven. It's exceedingly difficult. I only got in because I was a previous customer. So even though you're ready you may not get a spot straight away.
Not that I'm trying to discourage you at all! I'm not. Raven is amazing and your designs are beautiful (I like the aqua/green one). I'm just trying to make sure you're well informed.
i wasn't aware the nude waist was extra? i had it done for nothing more.
