I love these tails, I think they get unwarranted criticism to be honest. In my experience it is the hardest for tail makers when they try to make the "mid range" tails in terms of price. Because a lot of people will expect them to be every bit as good as the 2500 silicone tails. Raven ran into that as well when she had her basic line. They ended up taking more time than the elaborate silicone ones! I've seen some really odd complaints. Someone complained the scales made noise. Well yeah. they're resin. lol When I had a sequin tail made of the large sequins, it made noise too. Some people complain they aren't perfectly fitted. Well... of course not, they're done to generic sizing that's part of WHY they could be made so quickly. I think people really struggle with accurate expectations sometimes. Some people complain they aren't "real" enough. Mermaids aren't real, lol so isn't that subjective? Again, these tails were what 750$???
I saw them at Mermania and they were just beautiful. I had once said I'd never be a finfolk customer- which wasnt a personal dig at them- just that I'm loyal to merbellas with my silicone tails. But I mean honestly, if I had the money (and I very well may) in summer, I'd get one for sure. Would be great for my dry gigs, and times when I just want to swim in a tail without the hassle of lubing up hahaha. I think they photograph really beautifully, and when I was handling them at mermania I still think my silicone tails are much heavier.
The only really con I find to any form of tail with sewn on scales is they will fall off regardless of how great the craftsmanship is- they just do. So I am glad to hear they send people with replacement scales.
I am getting pretty annoyed though at the amount of people trying to sell them for more than they paid for them. A few even selling them for more than they paid after they altered them (removing fins, zippers, etc). It just seems like scalping at a concert to me.
