I'm fully expecting this auction to get REALLY high. I mean, her seadragon auction brought in... What, $6,000? Not including shipping? And that was a premade tail with set measurements, one top and one hairpiece, I think? (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, my memory's a wreck!)
This auction is, so far, a custom-tailored tail, brand new unique fluke shape (OOAK?), three tops and headdresses.
If the winning bid is less than $7,000/$8,000 I'll be pretty shocked, honestly.
Pretty bummed that I can't afford to bid, but I'm REALLY excited to see how much she makes on this. It's all going to look incredible, and for Raven's work? Definitely worth it, if you ask me!
God I want to see what she comes up with for this tail. Just the drawing alone makes me weak in the knees.

Yes, the final bid was $6,000.00. It included a hair piece, necklace, ring, scale bracers, scale heart, tail, top, earrings, and photoshoot. I didn't pay shipping because I live a few hours away; we met at a pre-arranged destination for picture time! I love my seadragon and I agree... what ever price she fetches on her tail will be totally worth it. I know of no other tail maker that can put together a full set quite like Raven can. I think this tail will climb to a much higher price since it hasn't actually been made yet (measurements and such) and because of all the custom work. I don't think it'll climb past $8,000.00, but if it hits that point, Raven deserves every penny of it. I hope this auction goes as well as (or better than!) the last one did!Quote:

I emailed Raven about the drainage in my tail and she said that i have a modified version of Rania's. also my top, tail, and extra goodies are shipping tomorrow!
All this makes me want to purchase a tail from Raven as well but I think I will wait for 2016 :)

Just got a photo update from Raven of my constructed tail awaiting paint. It is in black and white but I'm still astounded and amazed how beautiful it is. Since it isn't yet done, the photo isn't watermarked, and Raven agreed to do something special for my tail she's not previously made available I don't want to reveal it until it is entirely finished. I am super excited! Can't wait to share it with y'all!

For the mers waiting on their tails... When did u order? I'm trying to make some sorth of list in my head who is where etc and can keep track of everything :D I know... I have nothing else to do at the moment xD lol my order was made mid october. :)
Mine was 4/10/14. It is a little tricky trying to figure out your place in production. It doesn't appear to be strictly linear; simpler tails ordered later may be completed sooner (which makes perfect sense, but can be confusing when you are trying to figure out your timeline).Quote:

The fact is that polyhymnia is quite right; mine apparently is a very special tail and thus I am happy to wait as Raven is doing her best (which is, needless to say, amazing) with the molding en ce moment! :pearl:
Yup that is true. I ordered and payed mine 26 may. And Raven told me 2 weeks ago that it was almost finished being build. As soon it is ready for primer and paint she would send me picture updates. I'm checking my email several times a day. The longer it takes... The harder it gets!

Shimmygoddess's ex-top is paid in full and I'm currently awaiting it ^_^. Will my order fall in behind custom orders and be sent accordingly? Or will mine be shipped sooner since it was already complete when I bought it?
I actually try not to think about it as much as possible. STOP checking your countdown and your email and all that jazz and occupy your mind with other things until you find the tail needs your attention again e.g you think of a question to ask Raven etc. You'll find the time passes more quickly when you're not actively waiting for it.Quote:

i was pretty fine until about day 175 then i really started focusing more and more on it and by day 220 it was all i could think about all the time. but i agree with mermaid mechanic i made tons of accessories while i waited!
I agree with Selene and Raina; I was on a serious mermaid kick (no pun intended) from my receiving The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition up until March 29th of 2014, but then it left me as I poured my efforts into Why God Doesn't Hate You's thrilling and somewhat-dangerous campaign.
One doesn't need to stop being a mermaid in the meantime, of course. As the regulars know I had a lot of fun here on Mernetwork during that time and made some wonderful new fishy friends! :mermaid kiss:
