I love the purple and green and...would you call that bronze? Gorgeous!
Finfolk doesn't do individual scales, they use scale sheets. They're still fantastically gorgeous tails!! There is only one individual scale tail maker that I know of and that's PearlieMae (my tail maker)!
Finfolk does offer a new realistic looking scale feature for which they separate each individual scale after pouring and make it look as though they are individual scale. :>
Finfolk DEFINITELY does individual scales and they are NOT cut from a premade mold. They are individually cast and laid just like Pearlie's (though the coloring technique is very different). They offer both their dragon scales and their original (arapaima) scales as individuals.

Yes, Finfolk does do individual scales. Not exactly like mine, though...even though my method seems to be catching on.
Whoops! Sorry, I saw their video ad for it and assumed it was a different process!! ╮(─▽─)╭
They've been doing the individual scales for a while. The first tail that had it was their first Betta tail (the tail Abby wore in their first Hawaii photoshoot right after their Kickstarter finished). I got to see it in person August 2013 (so almost two years ago) when I went to Minnesota. I don't know when Pearlie started doing her individual scales, but I'm pretty sure I at least remember seeing the Finfolk one first, though I think they appeared around the same time (correct me if I'm wrong, Pearlie). But yeah, I remember being pretty amazed by the Betta tail since I'd seen pictures of it but didn't realize it had individual scales until they showed me the tail in person, and thought it was really cool cuz I hadn't seen anyone else do that before.
There is a mermaid who made individual scales way back years ago - but I can't for the life of me remember who! lol
Mermaid Odette :)
Wait, was it Odette? That rings a bell actually. Her tails look quite different from either of the aforementioned, but also quite pretty.
Edit: Mermaid Wesley wins Fastest Fingers in the West :P
Great minds thing alike :)

Good for them, honestly. I wouldnt want to see such creative people loose their love for this, so im glad theyre slowing down.
I'm surprised more tailmakers don't do premade. (Although, I do have to admit that I'm seriously happy I got my custom order in before this.)
yeah I've been bugging Raven to do this forever.
I think it's smart, and they can always use their discretion if someone comes at them with a cool idea.
