Neat idea going for Abe Sapien in those colors.
I love Abe!!! :'B
Great tail, Katey!!
Hydra and Lotus: thanks! I love Abe Sapien. I'm friends with Doug Jones, and wanted to channel one of my favorite characters of his. The burgundy/wine color scheme came from my Mertailor tail that was secondhand, but I fell in love with the color and found that it suited me

Here's mine :) This one's a self made neoprene tail but I'm saving up for a silicone tail that's a little more original
That looks great! Awesome job.

Here's my tail!!!! [emoji5]
Stunning!!!
Took her for the first swim of the season!!! I have to figure something out to keep the sequins on better. My E6000 job did pretty darn well. But the glue the company uses to attach the metallic backing to the plastic... Not so much. So I'm thinking maybe a layer of latex? Idk. I'm looking up on it. ;)

Thanks much!!! :) <3
To Everyone:
On the topic of my possibly adding a thin layer of latex over top of my sequins for safety... Does anyone think it would work? My theory seems like it would, but I've never really used liquid latex before. So any advise? Pearlie... ... You seem to be great at giving tailmaking advice... ;)) I found this just now, I thought it looks like a good deal and what I'm looking for... I think... help? Lol :

There are a few threads discussing latex in tail making.
Generally they concur that it isn't the best idea. Looks fantastic, but there are some health concerns.
After scrapping and restarting my silicone tail Wednesday the 15th and finishing Friday the 17th I went out in it today (Saturday 18th) at the Wizard World Sacramento convention. I won best in show! Sooooo thrilled with my first silicone project! Actually it's my first clay modeling project too. We had an incredible time and meet awesome people. Love my tail, and all the hard work that went into it. Hopefully I will get some underwater photos soon because this things is amazing, and I can hardly wait to make more. And yes that is a William Shatner backstage family photo!
