Where did she say that??

I'm guessing Eric is going to be the "villian" in this season; unfortunate because damn is that voice (and face and body) dreamy.
SPOILER BELOW:
Here is the summary for the third season if anyone is interested: Weilan, a teenage Chinese mermaid, discovers a mysterious relic underwater and releases a terrifying water dragon. Weilan flees to Mako for sanctuary but the dragon follows. When the fearsome creature threatens not only the Mako pod but the Gold Coast, Ondina, Mimmi and Sirena must find a way to destroy the dragon before it destroys all that they have worked so hard to save.

Darn. I'm really hoping that Erik isn't the villian, though, I won't be surprised if he is. I was just really hoping they could work through the "mermen are inherently evil" and the chasm between mermaids and mermen could start to close, bringing harmony between the two genders/species.
. . . I may be a bit biased.
Having recently finished the first part season 2, I have to say I enjoyed it a lot more than season one. Probably from the lack of love triangle this season so far.
However, like the question posed before about how to the merpeople reproduce, my wife and I have been bouncing around questions and possible answers for several of the mysteries from the show.

Spoilers:
Assuming Evie's mom is a mermaid, and Zac's big reveal does that mean the magic hot-tub only gives tails to those who have mer-genes?
Or, when the characters transform, where does their other form go? Who dries their wet clothes while they are transformed? Why is the moon inherently magical? Are they all just aliens? etc...
I was working with the theory that human girls can be turned by the moon pool, but not human boys. (who knows why, but that would tie in canon from both series)
As for the clothes thing, I just throw up my hands and go "eh, it's a kids show they couldn't have naked actors running about because their clothing came off when they turned into a mermaid" (this is the only way I justify those tops, too)
There's a long history of the moon being considered magical or mystical in mythology, especially the full moon. Considering the power the moon has over the world's oceans, I guess I can see it being a prominent part of mermaid myth and magic.
On the third episode of season 2. Really not liking the new mer girls. :/
Loving the tails though. Did Zach get an update?

I finished the episode set that's up for season 2 so far a few nights ago :) quite enjoyed it...the effects seem a lot better! I love seeing Issy Durant playing a Mermaid, she was one of my fave characters on Dance Academy, another fave show of mine and her acting is great. I'm guessing another set of episodes will be coming to end season 2 though right? That can't be all of them surely.
I really liked Evie this season. She reminded me more of the H2O girls mainly because she's in a similar situation. I felt like she had some real depth compared to some of the other characters.
I just finished the first 13 episodes of the season 2 thanks to the French uploaders who added subtitles.
I officially dislike Zac very much.
This guy is an asshole and he's a total hypocrite too. I was shocked by his attitude at the end of the 13th episode.
I'm actually rather fond of Evie.
Season 2 is definitely better than season 2. The new girls think much better and act more mature than the previous girls (Sirena aside).
I agree. Zach is just unrealistically pigheaded and stubborn. He is a very unlikable and unrelatable character because of it.
Huh. I found myself quite fond of Zach. I love how enthusiastic he is about being a merman, good change from the "woe as me" attitude we sometimes got from other humans-turned-merfolk. I also really appreciate how drama-free his relationship with Evie is.
For his meltdown at the finale, while he came off as a total arse, I dunno I kinda understood it. There's a lot of stress in that moment, to find out that one is adopted (and his parents never told him for what 17, 18 years?) And the mermaids often come off as rather controlling, telling him he can't do this or that. They open the season trying to turn him into a human, even. And now one wants to have sibling relationship? That's a lot of throw at a guy.
I have hope that his attitude will balance out with some time and the next season.
(Disclaimer: my opinions are my own, I realize that not everyone shares them and it's no big if other people dislike Zach. Just trying to put in my 2 cents about how I feel about the character)
I've just watched the second episode...
I'm really disappointed to find out the Northern Pod mers have the same tail coloring as Sirena. I don't like it one bit that mermaids can only have orange tails and blue tails for merman. I would've thought that there'd be more variety in tail colors, especially among mers from different parts of the ocean.
Agreed. Not sure why all the mermaids have the same color tails, considering each one is custom built to fit a certain actress. For the sake of homogeny, marketability, production costs, being recognizable? I just don't know. Feels like lazy costume design to me. Even if, say, the entire "species" has the same coloring, there could still be variation between individuals.
The most annoying thing to me is that I cannot tell any of the girl characters apart. Maybe because I'm face-blind and normally tell people apart by clothing, hairstyle, voice, and ethnicity. so, when they're in the water and they all have the same tails/top, and their hair is wet so it all looks the same, I'm quite lost.
It was really bad season three of H2O when all the leads were blonde. Thank god they at least got a black-haired actress to play the northern mermaid so I can at least remember who one of them is.
Me too Ed! The only way I can tell them apart underwater, is look for their hair color!
She must be a token dark haired mermaid, as I remember Nixie was a dark hair girl too.
I just asked the same question on their fb page.
Here's what I wrote...
"Why do all the mermaids have the same color tails? I would've thought mermaids from different regions have a variety of colors that would differentiate them from each other. We on Mernetwork, hope that the Chinese mermaid will have at least a different type of tail style and tail colors."
The usual H2O colour chart goes like this:
-2 blondes and one brunette mermaid
-one blond and one brunette dude
-a redhead as antagonist
I bet sooner or later, the evil redhead will show up in Mako too. :p
It wouldn't be too hard to put differences with the same base color ( and seriously give the Asian mer on the council a different tail at least) stripes, freckles, spots, scale tattoos

ye, it doesn't make sense.
So much money and work goes into making these tails, why not spruce them up a little?
It's not like they can re-use them again and again for different actors so they all have to look the same.
I've noticed Erik's tail below his feet is bulky for some reason. A poorer job than the other tails.
To bad they don't look here for ideas.
I noticed that too and I think I've figure it out from looking at photos of dolphins. If you look at pictures of dolphin/whale tails from a perfect side on angle, you will actually see a large muscle mass that connects to the underside of the tail providing the powerful up and down motion. I think they emphasized it on the mermen tails to suggest strength whereas the girls tails are a bit more streamline and delicate.
