I had a bit of a laugh because i remember emailing tail makers asking if they could do a silicone fin with a fabric base hybrid tail for a cheaper price XD no one got back to me. So this is exciting!!! Im most likely going to be able to afford a second tail now! Also if the body isnt silicone that would make it easier to put on and light to carry. AHHH just so exciting.
Right?! lol
I keep going back and forth between wanting to make or buy a tail. If I buy all the tail makers out there are already making my future decision REALLY difficult.
I think the body of those tails is definitely more than fabric. If you zoom in on the picture, you can see raised scales.
could it be a neoprene base? with silicone or latex on top? I am so excited. Now I will have to get another :yay:
Or maybe a fabric base? Like that time when someone took a Finfun tail and covered it in silicone?
The scales in the fluke sneak peak look like they're raised silicone so I'm personally going with the neoprene silicone theory.
No neoprene as far as I know. And it's an intentional individual scale look ;)
I think it's actually something brand new in the industry what they're planning/done. So when they come out with more info shortly, you'll see :D
I'm even more curious now. 0.0
This is definitely pushing me more towards buying a lower cost silicone tail because of how amazing they look!

It looks like sequins to me. I doubt it's full silicon though; part of me also hopes it's not.
I can't wait for all the new info, plus their new website <3
Eek! So many cool things coming!
Sequins makes sense actually. They did a sequin collaboration a while ago, right?
Oh, gotcha.
It's not sequins ;)Quote:

I think this is a pretty good hint. :p
Edit: was reading some comments on facebook and check out these comments:

The flukes and fins are 100% Dragonskin silicone. We will have full descriptions on the website later this week.
Hmm...Warmer to swim in...Quote:
For anyone that wants to know, I got to see these bad boys in Mexico. They're beautiful, easier to get into, probably warmer to swim in, and look amazing underwater!!!
Wah. I hate this waiting game.
I knew about the flukes and fins being silicone but the main body isn't, right? Least we're getting answers sometime this week.
Whatever they've done, it's hopefully easier than the "normal" process of their full silicone tails. Easier on them, I mean. That was my first thought after seeing the price.
Good things come to those who wait I guess...

Saw this on Savannah Bridges insta. She was the photographer with them and thehouseofflynn in Mexico I believe. Looks like it's a photo of Finfolk's new hybrid tail in water!

Whatever it is, I want it. It's beautiful, and since the wait list is over a year for a custom and over $3k usually, this is an EXCELLENT move and I'm very excited.
