Dump his sorry butt (if it were me, I'd blast him about it first) I went to Senior Prom with my boyfriend, and I hardly ever danced with him :P he only really saw me when I came to get a drink, my phone for pictures, or when he came to try and find me :P You definitely don't need a date as long as your friends are going. Ditch him and have a blast.
@Jeblily
If only I could, I would gladly escort you to your prom night. We don't have them in France, it would have been a lot of fun for me :)

Everyone on mernetwork right now
We had a kind of prom, but I went there alone as my ex-bf ended it a few weeks before exam ends. His loss not mine :D
And Arion for you I would make an exception and go out with a Frenchman ;)
I wear this every day for my job :)
Sadly, no. We do not have proms in France. It's an American thing, I guess.
When I was a senior and about to be graduated, someone suggested to do a prom night like the ones we see in American movies and then created one in the biggest room of my high school. I went there but not many people showed up. Mostly because it's not something common in France. It wasn't a success but it was not a failure either. People had good time, I didn't but at least I showed up and experimented it. It was nice but I wish I had friends to go with me.
The thing is that I hated my high school years. Not many good things to remember. So there you have it.. *shrug*
I need to rant about something that really pisses me off.
There is this guy on Instagram whose name is Sven and he's a merman. He has a cool account but there is one thing that really gets on my nerves : he uses every single time gay-related hashtags for every post he makes...
Being gay is not relevant to mermaiding! Being a merman has nothing to do with sexuality.
I'm gay as well and I DO NOT use such hashtags to get more likes and attention. I feel that we do not need to show blatantly to people our preferences, it's something private. Do straight guys and women have to use the hashtag #straight in their posts?! The answer is NO. Then WHY should we?? :doh:
I have nothing negative to say about that Sven guy, I have no doubt he's a nice guy and all. I guess he and I just have a different way to think. Nevertheless, I think I'm gonna avoid to fall into the clichés.

My heart just stopped...:swoon::fallover:
I may just have to fly you to the US Arion!!!
I hate when they use so many hash tags it feels like they are just trying to get more views... Mermaid Melissa
So that's why Sven has so many likes... I follow him to see where his popularity comes from considering he only has a finfun tail. He's just a wiz at photomanip and design. Cookie could do that, too.
And oh, let me try the hashtag game: #OMGmermaid, #Bluemermaid, #MermaidCeleste, #CelesteMermaid, #florida, #littlemermaid, #littlebluemermaid, #floridamermaid, #straightgirlmermaid, #straightalltheway, #totallystraight, #notmermaidmelissa
Well, not only that. He also gets a lot of commissioned artworks on him, some made by gay artists.
I'm all for sharing but to me, using the gay hashtag for mermaiding to get more views is the same as melissa pulling the same moves.
Edit : I happen to have more followers than him on Instagram and yet, I have less pictures than him and I never used his hashtags.
I feel like it's not sending a great message out, too - that all mermen have to be/are automatically gay, which deters straight men away from the scene because being gay is so often seen as being a wimp, which is seen as a bad thing.
Society is one big messed-up ball of awful :\
if he was trying to promote a business (haven't looked at his page yet) this would probably deter customers, which is the unfortunate truth. it's incredibly unprofessional.

Germany probably functions differently than America does. Maybe they are more open than we are about advertising sexual preferences. But seriously, if this guy wants to advertise himself as a flaming ball of merman, he should at least have thought about what this means to the community as well as himself.
*snort* flaming ball of merman *giggle*
Arion, if it makes you feel any better the only other "Persian Mermaid" advertised out there is someone in a fetish suit (which those of you who know me, know that this is not my issue, as I'm a freaky little SOB).... And since her face is completely covered and her "backstory" is utter bullshit, I'm almost 100% certain this b*tch is not Persian in the least, but using both mermaids and my ethnicity as some special-snowflake attention grab.
Which is what I wholly disapprove of.
