Ooo! Big scales!
Not many tail makers do big scales, and looking at it here, they do look really nice! A proper grown up tail instead of the mini baby scales that everyone does.

[emoji3059] Thank you Jaffa.
I love the Asia arrowana fish and these scales are an attempt at that, plus I use individual scales image usin baby scales on this huge extended tail [emoji33][emoji33][emoji33] it would take me forever just to scale it.
I have four sizes of this scale type for seamless pattern and because they should be smaller towards waist line as those are “new growth”.
I’m looking forward to sharing more with you all in the coming weeks.
* Disclaimer * I will most likely will not be adding my markings to this tail as it is the prototype, I plan on a nice blue coloration.
Like the mako mermen tail just blues.

Yesssssss finally able to upload a picture here ! FYI the tail is empty but the thickness makes it hold it’s shape. If your wondering foot pocket area is more or less where the dorsal fin is.

I like big scales and I cannot lie! I can't wait to see the whole thing finished!!
Thank you PhoenixMer [emoji3590][emoji3590][emoji3590]
I’m undecided as for fin placement not sure if I’ll do a dorsal and call it or if I wanna do side fins and pectoral fins omg [emoji15]

IMPRESSIVE.......... CONGRATULATIONS. ALL YOUR YEARS OFF HARD WORK PAID OFF :) It looks really good, you wont even see the outline of your feet once its scaled. I relocated and haven't been on here in 2 years. Once i moved I never had the funds to complete mine, but i haven't given up. :)
Amazing tail!

Awwe thank you so much! Ever since I saw the fist extended tail by JMBFX Studios I was so in love [emoji3059] I immediately began trying to reverse engineer it in my head and researching it’s been more than five years since I first started and now I’m finally seeing Dawn again after many long nights of testing and planning and building I am so proud 🥲

Decided to add fins last minute so these aren’t as detailed as they could be and will be on the 2.0 to come next. Now figuring out how to make it more travel friendly

Oh! I love the way you did the scale patterning! It's looking so good!
Some last minute resize issues since I lost so much weight lately has ruined the scale pattern at the front a bit but I’m already working to fix the area with dragon scales like I drew so long ago!

Thanks sooooo much I sooo can’t wait to swim in him for the second time! I swam it last year to test the extension it took me most of that time to finish a tail commission and last three months I’ve been working on this non stop every day well night lol [emoji23] and it is been soo worth it I wish I was faster though and needed less freaking sleep [emoji42] I would be able to do so much!

Omg!!! that looks so cool:swoon:
WOOOWWW, that's sooo cool. A-MA-ZING :jawdrop:
Just a question from a very new tailmaker: how much (more less) did you spend on the making of your tail? Because I have already spent quite a lot of money and I'm just making the mold, haven't bought the dragon skin yet :money:
Honestly between all materials including plaster for mold and powdered pigments and paint thinner and throw away brushes and painting cups and paper towels etc. 1200 estimate but I honestly didn’t count cause this particular tail took me about idk 4.5 years since I started this thread ?! Now that I have it I’m about to begin the creation of the second generation! I’ve learned so much with all the trials I went through and all that I learned from it I am confident in my best steps for sure it won’t be so long this time and I’ll keep track of everything so I can do a comprehensive breakdown.

Thank you soooo much and enjoy your fabulous artwork (sorry for my poor english).
Just another thing, which silicone did you use? I was looking for dragon skin, as I said, is that the best option?
