I love all these pictures. I wish i could participate... this broken ankle really takes the fun out of mermaiding. I'll be doing some swimming as soon as i can for rehabilitation for my ankle.

To tell you the truth, I didn't even think I was getting any bubble rings while I was there!! It was only when I watched the videos later that I was like "OH MY GOD IT *WAS* WORKING!" I thought I'd gotten some, but my friend with the camera said she didn't think I'd quite gotten them at the time (though I did!). Honestly, I think what it came down to was just being able to let my air out in one bubble. Any time any other bubbles slipped out they just got in the way of each other. swimming on my back and just letting one out seemed to do the trick, it sort of went ring-shaped on its own.
I feel ya about the having ideas for pictures, but the difficulties of being in FRONT of the camera... I'm a photographer by nature, not a model, and it's very hard for me to visualize myself rather than see a scene and adjust it. I spent a lot of time looking at photos of other mermaids and memorizing their positions to help myself with that. Next time I'm gonna show them to whoever's photographing me as well, so they get an idea of the kinds of shots I want as well. I think that's probably the best way to do it with a photographer inexperienced in taking pictures of mers :)
And another photo... I look so disgruntled!! I wasn't really, I was just talking to my photographer friend and just look grumpy by chance :)

Spottedcatfish--oh no! The broken ankle sounds like a real bummer :( Wishing you a speedy recovery!!
Happy, splashy 2014 for everymer ~_^
Did a photoshoot with one of my sisters and her friend the other night, it was tons of fun :) Basically we used anything and everything we could find in the basement for costumes and props. I think I had as much fun editing these as I did doing the shoot!
My sister did my makeup, and her friend took the photos. Sorry some are so grainy, the basement lighting wasn't very good.

Hi folks! This was a photoshoot I did back in fall with Morticia Mermaid to model her creations - Almost everything I'm wearing is by her, as well as the makeup! <3 This was the first time I felt like a "real mermaid", LOL!
ETA: WOW those pictures loaded huge... :/ Sorry...

Some of you know about this already, but I figured I'd post my most recent photoshoot in here for everyone. Here's my day as a Merbella Mermaid. <3

Everyone looks like they're having so much fun! I hope to have my dive buddy take underwater pictures of me this summer. hopefully, doubtfully
This is my favorite thread to follow :) Everyone looks so lovely! Fifi Tigg, that little one is adorable - I love the first photo where it looks like she's shy! & Mermaid Lorelei, you're beautiful! Great photos as well.
Here a small clip of Mermaid Emily Drew swimming in her Finfolk Productions tail :)

you mean if it's 2 way rather than 4 way? yeah that makes sense =) I was thinking of using some black tassel fringing I have, to make a dorsal fin and fluke fringe too. So you think the back panel would still work if it's split in two by the dorsal? I'm also quite wide :') so do you think the panel may need to be a bit wider for me?
Thanks Harley! After she saw the video she wanted to go back out straight away and do more! Lol
Seanny took these with my phone after learning some tips from Steve Anton

Sure! Just make sure you use a zig zag stitch so there is plenty of room for the fabric to move and stretch. I'm pretty wide in the butt - size 16 - and the panel is really to provide vertical stretch so you can sit, lift your fluke, etc. The stretch around your hips comes from the other part of the tail.
Raina! Those are wonderful! You look amazing! Good job, Sean!
Raina- Until I took a closer look I swore it looked like you were in a tank! You and Sean did awesome with those pics!
Beautiful Raina :mermaid kiss:
I thought those were tank shots as well. Are those taken from above looking down? They came out great.
Cool! I love the lightning in these shots! <3
It took me 3 months to complete my baby but it's done and I did a photo shoot some time ago and finally received my first edited picture, I'll share non photoshopped pictures too because the colors are different.
Hope everybody likes them, I am really pleased with it. (sorry if most of you don't know me, I've been on this forum some time and I'm kinda shy so I don't comment on threads so much, but I do follow and read ALOT of them and am loving all the inspiration and kindness that is shared here)

yup. and I got sick from the freaking water. lol
Celine your tail's fantastic! I really need to consider making myself a sequinned tail :thinks:
Celine your tail is just stunning!! It looks so perfect! Beautiful job....it must have taken a long time to do all the sequins! Did you glue, sew or both? I have a partially finished sequin tail that you have just inspired me to finish! (It's been on the back burner for awhile now....I got sidetracked by silicone!) :)
Those are so gorgeous Raina, I love the soft, nostalgic, "instagram" look to them.
I love this one!!!
thank you sweetie! Yeah, you should totally consider! then we could be sequin sisters :-p
thanks Jessica! it took 8 hours a day for 3 months and I sewed each one individually on the fabric. I'm glad I inspired you to finish your tail and I can't wait to see the finished product!
I wish to have a silicone tail one day but untill then I'm very pleased with what I got now :-)
such a beautiful tail Celine ! and Raina those pics are so mystical ! Love them ! I had a fun shoot with a friend of mine at the beach the other day and thought id share them - they aren't mermaid pictures but I just got my new mono fin recently by Special Fins and we wanted to get some nice shots so I hope you likey !
