Actually i dont think gills on a mermaid tail would look good IMO-

having silicone gills made as a accessory piece, like for the neck or rib area could be a cool idea if you are going for a hyper realistic look...the silicone could even be left long enough to move as you move through the water, so they look functional.

The scales sound like a really good idea Merrow! And ooh, an H2O tail, wow! I can't wait to see all of these recreated! I'll have mine by The end of December/early January

How would you keep them on? I've heard spirit gum, but I've always had that come off of my skin easily. Then again, parts of my skin are super oily.

I ordered a fish butt, too!! I should have it before X-mas!! =D I ordered during the unforseen "sweet spot" and was able to upgrade from my latex order to partial latex - SOOO excited to get my tail!
