So this image itself has over 1 million views. From the total combined views from all over the web it has over 4 million. It netted me 200 facebook fans over night which is what I usually get in two weeks or two and a half weeks currently. My "reach" on FB went from 1500 to 24,000+ on everything that I had posted too. it's pretty freaking crazy. But from the most part the feedback has been positive and everyone's been interested in the mer-community which is cool!

Gotta love posting without context. Hey there. this is me. This post was lifted off a reddit post I did, obviously without context. This kid was waiting to take a photo with me, and was hamming it up. He went to kiss me on the cheek but I didn't realize it and turned and he got me in the mouth. This was in front of at least 50 other people, including the boys parents. And if you haven't noticed, I'm in a costume that binds my legs, not like I can get up and run away. I turned away the instant I realized what was happening, totally mortified. But the kid's parents assured me it was okay and an accident, and that the kid was bragging to everyone his first kiss was with a mermaid. When you so disingenuously apply the label of sexual harassment or pedophile over everything, you undermine ACTUAL situations in which these things are occurring. And you know what? Little girls DO kiss men all the time in very similar scenarios. They kiss Santa. They kiss characters at Disney, there are famous photos of them kissing celebs and politicians. He's a kid who tried to kiss my cheek and missed. Seriously, check your privileged and get over yourselves.
9gag is really a place for angry guys, lol.
Great response Raina. People say Reddit is a haven for middle class white males with privilege, but really I've seen very little sexism there that isn't downvoted to oblivion. Why 9gag is still a thing, I cannot fathom. Probably because those sexist a-holes can't find camaraderie on Reddit.
Every time I hear comments like that from guys, all I think of now is that they also probably have their faces posted on that "Nice Guys of OKCupid" site.... Because those are totally the same douchey personality types. :D
It's pretty easy to write them off and ignore them after that conclusion is reached.
