I'm pissed at usps. They haven't updated my tracking on my tail since 2:19 am June 22.
Fuck you USPS.
Ouch.
Got a rant this time, sort of. I feel a bit silly getting so worked up over this, but since my local pool banned all toys including swim fins, I haven't been able to shake this feeling that I'm not a proper mermaid and never will be one.
Again, ouch!
Well. Tail or no, you're a mermaid. Maybe you could beg the life guard?
Lotus_Blooming is right. Patience and perseverance, find a way out, maybe you 'll need some time until make it, but make it. Life is too short to give up your dreams.
Thanks everyone. I am still trying and looking into alternatives. And it really helps to know that regardless of fins or tails, I'm still a mermaid on the internet!
Yeah. Your desire for mermaid-ness is more than enough to make you a mermaid.
And really, try asking the life
guard. They can be more lenient than pool policy dictates, and truly it is up to them.
I can try, but I wouldn't blame them if they don't want to risk their job over it. Maybe if there aren't many people they'll let it slide, but I don't think our lifeguards have much authority.
They don't, but people can be railroaded. Try letter writing?
I talked to someone at the office who said she would ask her boss. I followed up a couple of days ago and will do so again if after another week I haven't heard anything. If that fails I think I have the contact info for the person in charge of the whole place. And worst case scenario, I am looking into other pools in the area. There is a very promising one currently under construction, but since it is indoors it doesn't matter if it isn't done this summer. The only issue there is the membership fee for the place where it is.
Wriggle your booty and shake your tail at them. Might change their minds after that.
Lol. So true, Jaffa.
And membership fees can actually wind up being less expensive than daily admission if you swim frequently enough.
Lol, I don't think that would work on most of the gals we've got lifeguarding, but you never know.:mermaid kiss: And any fees for my current pool are included in rent, so I'm paying for it whether or not I use it. That's a big part of why I really don't want to have to look elsewhere. Having it just down the street is a nice perk, too. (On the downside it is right outside of the main office, which is why I suspect lifeguards would be hesitant to break a brand new rule.)
 I like that plan! Heck, with a bod like his he could probably get them to revoke the rule entirely since the office is basically all women, too.
