I admit, I was not expecting to see myself pop up in the thread all of a sudden. XD
Well, you make such a lovely She Creature, Lorelei! :mermaid kiss:
Now that you mention it, Raina, I do recall you stating earlier that travel-tanks are so limited in space that Raven wouldn't be able to make a proper turn in a Competitor. The Sea Dragon, on the other fin, would be an excellent candidate for a Competitor monofin, for it both looks big and powerful and also was destined to be auctioned off to another lucky mer!
Aww, you're a sweetheart Michelle. <3
Hey I was just wondering if anyone has heard from Raven? I got an email on September 6th from her promising she'd ship my tail the next week but never heard from her. I sent an email asking if everything is ok but she hasn't responded to the email. I'm trying to be very patient but I'm on day 451 and it's getting cold. I'd really like to get some pictures taken for business cards and my website before it gets too cold out :-/
I love the flowiness of the foil in tails and was seriously considering it at one point but after talking with Raven about it, I decided against it as she said it makes the fluke very heavy and difficult to maneuver out of water, difficult to lift over your head or do tail slaps from what I've heard and thought since I'm still relatively new to this it wouldn't be the best decision for me since this will be my first full silicone tail and that in itself will be enough of an adjustment. Whereas someone like Raina would be more than capable of handling them, since she has had so much practice in a tail and is so comfortable around them. But I would love to have a flowy fluke one day. *stares wistfully into the far distance*
Thanks for all the extra pictures and info everyone! Scince my basic tail has a competitor, i optioned for a more natural, flowly look this time. :)
I don't know why, but today i'm actually reazing I'm getting a full silicone tail! Still can't believe it! It just seems unreal. :swoon: I'm a VERY lucky mermaid that my folks are giving me this chance, after failing at my DIY tail attempt.
for those of you who have tried competitor and foil, which is more comfy in your opinion? :)
I have a foil in my mermaid creations tail and find I can't swim very well. But it's just as comfy as my competitor. :) I'll be getting a foil in my new tail but Raven has a method she uses to make it easier to swim with better kick with the foil, in how she makes her flukes now :)
I'm still trying to find the right monofin for my upcoming merbellas tail, my current one is just too small for my feet I think it just cuts off circulation :( I think it would be fine for small feet but not mine
No lie, I want a competitor in my next tail.
its probably easier to go bigger with monofins and wear thick socks, then worry about it being too small :(
I've swum in both foil and competitor and don't find the footpocket feel any different. Each is just as comfortable as the other.
Just out of curiosity is Raven still doing the scale hearts? I haven't seen any in the newer orders which is a shame because they were so awesome. (I was lucky enough I get mine when she was originally doing the scale hearts but didn't get one in my box :/ )
it was never guaranteed just something extra she did when she had time
It's been quite here lately...
Yay! Got everything send in - mesurments, design etc- and Taylor said I could start counting my days from today. ;)
My tail and Michelle's are being started soon :)
