I'm crossing my fins that they make a merman version of this. That straight up blew my mind. Thank you for posting that. If you want one for yourself, I suggest not to make a separate thread as it's going to reduce your chances of getting one.

I have some of that material at home and was wondering why I hadn't seen any mermaids using it yet :D especially since it's actually called mermaid material :D super excited to see what Finfolk come up with

I have some of that stuff in my basket on etsy...... I guess I could..... Maybe..... jump the gun....... *u*
Excited for these tails. The mythic line I am not won over with. Personal preference only, they are just beautiful but not overly practical to swim in. Being 5ft3 and trying to swim with all that weight and drag from the tail was too much effort for me. I couldn't powerhouse swim in it, with all the neoprene, 1000s of resin scales, the fins = just too much to swim in.
So i am thinking fabric tails are the way forward and quite excited to see how these fabric tails look in the finish. I cannot wait to see what they do with the fluke too. These would be so much lighter to swim in. Also the pearlescent transition of colours of this fabric gives me life.
OH MY GOD I WANT THIS SO BAD THEY ARE GORGEOUS
Hopefully, they will use a stretch stitch instead of the straight stitch they used.
Finally, a nice tail I can afford!
OMG I need the green one in my life RIGHT NOW!!
Does anyone know when they come out? I looked on the website and they all say they're sold out
yeah I was asking Abby about it recently as well and she said summer.
I love these tails, I think they get unwarranted criticism to be honest. In my experience it is the hardest for tail makers when they try to make the "mid range" tails in terms of price. Because a lot of people will expect them to be every bit as good as the 2500 silicone tails. Raven ran into that as well when she had her basic line. They ended up taking more time than the elaborate silicone ones! I've seen some really odd complaints. Someone complained the scales made noise. Well yeah. they're resin. lol When I had a sequin tail made of the large sequins, it made noise too. Some people complain they aren't perfectly fitted. Well... of course not, they're done to generic sizing that's part of WHY they could be made so quickly. I think people really struggle with accurate expectations sometimes. Some people complain they aren't "real" enough. Mermaids aren't real, lol so isn't that subjective? Again, these tails were what 750$???
I saw them at Mermania and they were just beautiful. I had once said I'd never be a finfolk customer- which wasnt a personal dig at them- just that I'm loyal to merbellas with my silicone tails. But I mean honestly, if I had the money (and I very well may) in summer, I'd get one for sure. Would be great for my dry gigs, and times when I just want to swim in a tail without the hassle of lubing up hahaha. I think they photograph really beautifully, and when I was handling them at mermania I still think my silicone tails are much heavier.
The only really con I find to any form of tail with sewn on scales is they will fall off regardless of how great the craftsmanship is- they just do. So I am glad to hear they send people with replacement scales.
I am getting pretty annoyed though at the amount of people trying to sell them for more than they paid for them. A few even selling them for more than they paid after they altered them (removing fins, zippers, etc). It just seems like scalping at a concert to me.
I agree 100%. Also this was their first release and as with any new product there are kinks that need to be worked out. They have been so receptive to feedback and are implementing improvements to adress just about every major complaint that has come up, and that's a sign of quality to me.
On a side note, to people complaining about the noise, paint getting scratched, and scales falling off. These are all issues I deal with for my sequin tail. It's just the nature of this kind of tail and you have to be prepared to deal with the maintenance (same with any tail).

"Longer tails"
But no shorter ones. Poo :/ guess I might just have to wait a little longer and hope they make them for shorter people too.
I totally get it, it's easier to be shorter and wear a tail that's too long than a tail that's too short. Not complaining just hoping.

I've scales have been falling off, but have any been cracking in two? I think maybe in a year or so once they get their sizing a little more on par, I could consider one of these tails :) Hopefully they'll come out with more colors!
