I don't have a drawing of my own to show you because I'm keeping this whole thing secret from my parents, which is difficult AF. But this is sort of what I'm doing.

My legs would be hidden in the trailing, tissue-paper bit, and the body would be basically a smallish hoop skirt. I have no idea how I could keep up with regular fish merfolk or make the swimming motion look realistic (pls see my thread in tailmaking if you have ideas) but I'm really proud of the concept.

I know this thread has been dead for a few months but I wanted to share this design I created. The stripes/spots were inspired by my cat Nismo and I always pictured myself in a silver tail.
I too just finished my tail design! I spent a few months figuring out what i want and eventually i will het around to making it. The body would be sequins and all the fins silicone.
