Sometimes I hate seeing other tails. It makes me want to email Raven and be like "WAIT! STOP EVERYTHING! MAKE IT LOOK LIKE _______!" But then I look at my design and I calm down, but this still happens more often than not. XD
Ohhhhh yeah. I have had the "add on" fever so many times now during the process. I finally had to cut myself off after last adding a top and buying the extended warranty.
Those dragon scales though...I keep having to really talk myself down from asking the price to add a plastron ir two of those in certain spots but I think she'd want to smack me since I think she's close to finished painting the tail. I should just have my paycheck direct deposit shifted to go directly to Merbellas from here forward. Ha.
I think my biggest fear is that I almost feel like I'm wasting her time with my tail design because it's so simple and unoriginal (in my opinion) and I just wish I could come up with something unique and amazing like the Sea Dragon or Kailani's or even just turn around and say 'make something amazing' and give her complete creative control. :/
No don't be Selene. It is your dreamtail, isn't it? I must admit i always love to see everyone's beautiful designs. And i also tought, wauw why can't i make up a tail design that is so unique? Simple, because the tail i ordered is my dream tail. Simple design or not.... It is your dream :)
Honestly I don't even know if it's my dream tail, which I suppose may add to why I feel bad sometimes. I think that is something I'm still looking for. I certainly love the design, but I don't know if it's this amazing design I love more than anything in the world and would never want anything else. But I don't really plan on stopping mermaiding any time soon so I hope I'll find it one day.Quote:

I know the color scheme I would like , but the more days pass, the more i doublt about my tail design. I love it trough, but I don't know if it would fit the 'real live' view of the tail I have in my mind :)
I feel the same way. My design is used so often, but I tried to adjust it so that it was still original and what I wanted. ... Ug, I am not going to pester her. XD I am going to be a good little fish and wait until I get a sketch and then talk it over then. No use worrying about it ... Though, someone tell that to my anxiety disorder so I will calm down!
I went through that for a few months too...questioning myself over the design and if it really was my "dream tail", whether or not it was unique or too derivative of other designs etc. All that immediately dissolved away as soon as I saw an unpainted preview pic once she completed construction. She had taken a very rough idea and brought it to life in a way MORE spectacular than I hsd imagined or envisioned it. Have faith in Raven's ability to translate your vision into being in a fantastical way. I haven't yet seen a tail that she's made that isn't gorgeously unique; even simple ones. She's brilliant at taking bits of ideas and making them spectacular realitites.
Getting so antsy ugh.. I sent my ready to order email for a top over a week ago and havent heard back yet. I know theyre super busy bu this waiting is terrible! lol

here's a great shot of the waist line. believe it or not but the top of the tail comes all the way up and under my top! it sucks all the fat in like a corset haha. no editing. just a great blend.
I do find if you don't have it up all the way you can get a muffin top. When I was at merfest I couldn't get it up all the way because of an injured hand and I had a muffin top thing going on a lot. But now that I've gotten used to my tail and figured out the best way to get it on, it doesnt happen anymore. I recommend going high because it helps all around. :) I'm going to do a whole thread on the blended waist!
