I think that's how they're going to tie things in. Probably some sort of explanation as to why such a big pod could not care about the H2O girls
Though anyone notice that they (the elders) really didn't seem to care about Evie becoming a mermaid? I kinda think that the mermaid counsel knew about the H2O girls (a bit exciting now that we know that Bella would be considered a Northern mermaid) and were all like "whatever, they're not dudes"

Judging by the photo the official Mako instagram just posted, it's definitely one of the original mermaids (Emma, Rikki, or Cleo). Who it is depends on how many episodes they are expected to sign on for. If it's only one or two, it could be any of them but if it's more than that I expect it will be Rikki as Cariba Heine still lives in Australia (as apposed to LA for the other two actresses) and isn't involved in any major productions (Aquarius for Claire Holt and the Originals for Phoebe Tonkin).
I wish they would say already! I wish louis would come back! I cant wait to hear the explanation of why they never ran into each other in the moon pool or anywhere else since there was like a billion of them living off the island.

Man, I'd love to see Cleo back. I hope it's her! It sounds likely, which is surprising. I'd love her back for more than an episode but I know that's not gonna happen. I hope Clewis are still together! I would love for the other characters to get mentioned.

This is a bit off topic, but just wanted to throw this out. For those of you who like the H2O franchise, and went to see some good Australian movies, check out "The Man From Snowy River," (which is on Netflix Now) and it's sequel "Return to Snowy River." It isn't about mermaids, but they have a great story. It is a western more about horses then guns, and has a pretty strong female character, especially in the second one, which is my favorite of the two. However, be warned. The second movie has something in it that has even me holding back tears when I watch it, but it has an awesome ending. The sound track is great too. I highly recommend them.

On the third pic there is a blonde girl blurred out... Rikki!!
There's also a girl with brown hair blurred out (Phoebe). Honestly, I don't think they've started shooting that part yet. Phoebe has been in LA up until a few days ago.

maybe the blurred people are not part of it and they blurred them out in order to not put the idea that these random background people (who don't seem to be facing the camera at all) are part of the next season
They already have started giving clues, Rikki or Cleo. They probably won't give more clues until much closer to the air date
