Sweet easy!
How much were they, Ms Jazz?
Well I ordered 20 packs which is 1,100 scales, but it's looking as if that was too much (I'm pretty short). It cost $60. My first scale sheet cost around $80 because I got 2 punches, 2 packs of 2mm craft foam, and 2 packs of 1mm craft foam. It's all trial and error though, so I'm not worried. And I'm really happy with the way the scales are now.
Good deal. I can't wait to see the mould and everything!
Daily Update- Scale sheet is done! It looks really good, and the scales really give that rising effect. I only used 12 of the 20 packs I ordered, but I'm also short. I highly suggest buying foam soccer balls if you are lazy like me:p Also, the silicone and paint and other stuff is on the way:)
Here's a picture-

And this is a picture of the actual length of the sheet. Only 2 hours of work!:P

WOW! It looks CRAZY! Very cool!
Thanks:)
Wow! That is small! How tall are you lol?! It looks like that was a lot easier than cutting out foam circles. I started cutting out circles last year and I'm still not done! Did you have to glue them down or were they adhesives?
Adhesives @Mermaid Cascada And I'm only like 57 inches, so this sheet is about 40 inches long.
I'm 60 inches lol. I always say its better to be fun sized. Your scale sheet looks awesome btw. :)
Lol and thanks:)!!
Are you going to put walls around your scale sheet so you can pour a solid piece of silicone, or are you going to brush on one layer at a time?
@Memaid Dottie- I have a box with walls in which I will place the sheet of cardboard where the foam is attached to inside the box. The box I got from BJ's had holes in the bottom so this was my other option.
Did that make sense? lol
Haha I am loving watching this whole process unfold. I wish I knew anything, Id help. Haha
Nice idea with the pre cut soccer ball shapes!
I noticed that you have at least one place where the shapes overlap. You may want to go back in and fill any gaps with something so that the mold material won't get in between the scales and get messy. I used cardboard ovals for my scales, so I just filled in my gaps with more glue. I also sealed my scales to make sure nothing could get in.
You look to be doing great so far, keep it up!
I actually think she'll be okay. You mean that spot in the middle of the first picture, right? Where one soccer ball is overlapping the other? It doesn't look like there's much of a hole there, so I think maybe the most she'll get is a 'mole' in her scales.
Paint it brown, like a freckle!
Yea a few slightly overlapp and there a few teeny tiny gaps but I'm not too worried. Ill try fixing it up as much as possible
How tall are you? And you tail is coming a long wonderfully! :)
