Thanks Freshwater! The latex/sequin tail I'm currently making for myself has a black and dark-purple color scheme, and it reminded me of Ursula's tentacles, and so this happened :p
lol Marla, I meant overdone as in a bit cliche' hehe ;D But AGREED, I'm in love with it too.
I started a barnacle sculpt for a latex appliance :p

Ariel - Well, the one with just the netting... It didn't like it when I bent over. >< So, I have the halter one that I wrapped netting around in the same halter way, but it burned too much so I said screw it. Hahaha
Kenzie - It kinda does, it sort of... well... Flattens the girls, but if you pull and sit them right it's great! I may (MAY) be looking to sell it. :-/ If not, I can always make one for you, they really aren't that expensive. :-D I would just need a few measurements and I'd be good. ^_^ Extra embellishments can be added, too. Like extra netting or pearls or leaves... etc... That would just be a bit more than the "basic" design. <3 (And we can discuss all the details in PM for privacy and ease of finding the messages or you can e-mail me at kailanithemermaid@gmail.com ) Also, those barnacles!!! <3 Love!

Kenzie: Haha! Yeah, I'm TINY, which is why it's so difficult for me to find good tops. >< It looks funny when it looks like you have nothing to hide. Like putting a top on a guy. I'm sure that it would work for a B, though. I don't see why not. It just wouldn't be practical for someone that is a large C or bigger.
I've been wanting to make a top out of polished abalone ever since I found out ones that large existed! That was the day Raven bought and posted the red abalone that she bought (holy crap that was over 2 years ago now O_o time flies), and have had the shells to make this top for months haha :P So I am SO happy I finally took the plunge and made it already! Here are some pics :)

I have been working away at my top, bracelets, earrings, and hair clips all day! Here is a peek at progress.
Everything on here is so lovely, especially the hair accessories, but then I am a bit nuts with hair. ;)

The belt used to be a fugly all-black scuba dive belt.
It's now dark green, with stuff sewed on, and neon green netting to let the water flow from the three compartments.
The bag is a really tightly woven net, which I usually attach to the diving belt.
I also have lots of necklaces and armbands not photographed yet;
my resources to make them are a bit limited though, since I won't use real animals.
