Ooh I'm happy for you! My friend has the purple and it is really pretty, especially in water.
But yeah the top has no support, what so ever.

Very beautiful tail, Dottie!
It looks perfect! :)
Thanks all! I can't wait to go swimming and do photos and junk!
It's so pretty, and it fits so well. <3<3<3<3<3
Haha, ha... I have another tail to show... A not-quite-finished-but-I -still-wore-it-in-public tail.
Out of stretch velvet stuff! (I was supposed to be a selkie)

Dottie that is so kickass!
Dottie that is so cool! I don't usually see full body tails and it looks shnazzy on you! (shnazzy is my new favorite word don't judge) Can't believe you made it yourself! I have no talent in sizing tails, and definitely not a full body tail xD
Wow Dottie you look amazing! You curves are rockin!! Very selkie like tail indeed! I approve :)
Wow! Thanks you! Never been called that before! Thanks so much! :D
Thanks, Kalani! I did have help, though. Nymora traced out my body shape onto the fabric, and then I left little to no seam allowance when I cut the fabric. Then I sewed half, and she did the rest. (Also, I've always loved the word shnazzy.) I can't wait to show you guys the other selkies! There were three of us on the ship. (Nymora is a genius. Just sayin'!)
 Aww, shucksiedoodles! XD
Coming from someone who I admire as one the most beautiful embodiments of the mermaid spirit I've ever seen, that means a lot to me.

Not quite what you would expect but here is a drawing made by Emem Vargas on Facebook. He's a talented artist who drew himself, me and some mermen with tails.
I'm pretty sure you will find out where I am ;)

Wow that's amazing he has serious talent! I'm guessing you're the one on the upper far left with the necklace?
Dottie! YOU LOOK AMAZING!!! That is so cool! What else would you do to it to finish it???
Arion, that's a super fun drawing!
Hey, Arion! That's pretty rad! I like the mixture of tails.
@Pearlie Mae, well, it's kind of stitched to my bra, in that picture, and I think it needs a lining. It was also supposed to open in front, so that we could hang the fins from our belts, which are also incomplete.

Hey fellow mers, I have created a fantasy art dragon inspired silicone tail (and bra). I saw a green dragon figurine somewhere in the internet and then.... bang, that was my future mermaid tail! It took me nine months to finish it but now it´s done. I already swam with it and it did well. I learned a lot by making it, made a lot of mistakes in the beginning, wanted to give up a million times, but now I´m happy that I worked away difficult times and that I really finished it. Hope you like it! :-)

Holy crap, that is amazing! I love it!
Oh my god. Wait, you're kidding, right? That thing is insane! That's better than the majority of professional tails out there!
Holy crap, that's amazing! :jawdrop:
WOW That's fantastic!
OMFG!!!!! wow !!!
Really gorgeous! Just amazing.
The subtleties in that tail are astounding!
That tail is wonderful! What an excellent job, I'm so glad you didn't give up! The attention to detail is stunning! Brava!
WOW! That tail is stunning great job does not begin to cover it!
Oh my gosh! That tail is absolutely gorgeous! Is the belt silicone? Because I've never seen a belt sculpted on a tail like that before. The detailing on it is spectacular! And I LOVE the veins in the fluke, they look so natural. Seriously, great job. This tail's amazing.
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments, cannot discribe how happy I am to read all of them!!! :-) I have been a sculptor and painter all my life and in the last years I used to create silicone mermaid belts, bracers and other stuff to get used to the characteristics of silicone and some other materials. I´m an artist, a perfectionist in detailing and quite an experienced mermaid but what I was unsure about were the swimming abilities of my tail. Is it usable? Stable? Buoyancy neutral? Does it swim fluently and elegantly? Thank god, yes. :phew: But it was difficult to achieve this by intent because of my lack of experience in technical tailmaking. I think, all of this is high risk. You invest a lot, work so hard months and months but there´s no guarantee that this thing would survive even one dive or propel you even one meter. It just came out great but that was also.... luck. As for the veins: I love it that you discribe them natural!! (because my main job is veterinary anatomist ;-))
Seadragon Tail!!! So beautiful!
I would love to see a video of how it swims! Love the fluke and all the detailing!!
Oh my gosh, SeaNymph, that tail is incredible! As someone who used to have a HUUUUGE obsession with dragons, I approve the hell out of that tail! The built-in belt at the top is awesome!
And I agree with Sabie, I'd LOVE to see how it moves in the water!
