For the first time in my life and my nearly-a-decade-long cosplay history, I ordered a costume online. I was a little disappointed when the fine print about custom sizing overrode the big advertised "no extra charge" policy and there was an extra fee to make it large enough for me, but I understand that it honestly does cost them more to make because of the extra material involved. I wish they were more up-front about the extra materials fee, but okay. Any way, I got a message today saying that my costume has shipped! Yay! I'm so excited to put it on, even though it will take 2-4 weeks to get here by the shipping estimate they gave me when I ordered. So much excite!
today at work me and a guest bonded over tattoos. and then i explained how the running inside joke at the store was that i'm a mermaid (not just because the little mermaid was my favourite movie) but by telling him the whole dolphin rescue story and he was so intrigued. he's definately coming back to the disneystore
He's okay! Despite all my tears and blubbering my bird made it through his microchippong just fine!!!!! I was so scared, lol!
I passed all my final exams for the semester and got pretty good final grades in all my classes. A hard-fought victory, and one I'm glad is behind me. :D
Had the chance of enjoying nearly two hours of Candy Dulfer, my favorite saxophone artist (jazz and funk), on a free open-air concert here in Hannover! Soooo cool! :yay:

I need to add to this thread, because I'm super excited over the fact that I swam with my eyes open in a pool!
A silly thing to be crazy excited about, but it was a chlorine pool, and it didn't kill my eyes!
So I'm also a contact lens wearer (near sighted), and while things were a tad blurry, my focus was slightly better underwater than above.
I used to swim in clean (moving) river water as a kid, and opened my eyes all the time. Then I tried this in a chlorine pool. It was so painful I was afraid to open them ever again after that. Add the contacts to that later on when I turned 16, and it was goggles always.
So yesterday I found out about the San Jose University Aquatic Center pool, and after work, I jetted over there with my monofin, took my lenses out, and brought my glasses along so I could see where I was going between the showers and pool.
When I first stuck my face in the water and blinked my eyes open, no stinging, no burning.
It felt weird to swim with them open, but I'll just have to get used to it again. ;)
YEEEEEES SWEDEN WON I'M SO HAPPY
CONGRATULATIONS AUSTRALIA TO A FIFTH PLACE!!!!

I have to add a happy thought to this thread too. I got to swim in a pool for the first time in a loooong time, and despite body image issues I wore a bikini and didn't even feel an ounce of negativity about myself!! My sister in law laughed and said I "was like a fish coming home". Haven't felt more relaxed and happy in a long time.
Just had to share! <3
It really is. I'm so glad I got into this. I haven't stopped smiling. <3
:yay:
I lost some tuna belly. I don't feel like a bloated fish corpse anymore.
Oh and the homemade fish suit didn't fall apart in the water!
My husband and I decided to start a family together. I'm so happy, cause I have wanted it for a long time already, but due to finances and house problems we postponed it. But now it's finally happening, and I feel much better now that I'm off the pill. :D
