I'm glad I can be of help! I wanted to make this thread for the people who are trying to make changes. Too many people focus on why they can't do something and let it cripple any progress they might've had. I want to see people who can and will do and try. It forms such a healthier sense of community and it honestly helps motivate me more to see everyone else's journeys. I have struggled with my body and my self image for years and I know what it's like to be feeling down about yourself. I'm still there sometimes. When I read about other people sharing their successes it reminds me of what mine feel like so that I can push through my own rough patches and plateaus :)
Thanks Ashley! Will be doing rowboat exercises from now on until Summer. Prob 10 a day until I get some core strength, pretty weak what with being a couch potato for the last 40 years!
Kudos to Coradion and to all of you who have the courage to try and keep trying! Trying to be better and help the world be better is what life is all about.
Anybody have exciting updates?
I haven't been able to get much practice in, so my swim time seems to last a little over an hour before I tire out.
But the practicing I have been doing has made swimming easier. I'm now able to go about 3/4 of the pool length on a single breath. I don't remember how long the pool is though.
Had a bit of a scare after one of my laps. Felt fine underwater and resurfaced only to have trouble breathing in for a couple of seconds, light my throat closed up when inhaling. Made me glad I was at the edge of the shallow end so it wasn't as panic inducing. Didn't have any other troubles for the rest of the swim, but I also played it a bit more careful after that.
So I have a exciting new update, I am starting crossfit on tuesday! I am so excited and ready for it!
Thanks to my surgery I've lost 9 pounds since the 23rd of July. I can't wait until I can chew again and gain back my weight.
So cross fit is crazy, only after two days my body is so sore.
I've been able to bend lower when doing the butt squats. Previously couldn't do it without my legs aching for days, but now it doesn't hurt when I do that exercise.
I started aerial hoops classes recently and Im in love !!!! its so much fun and its really working my body, I had sore muscles I didnt know I had lol heres a lil vid from our class the other day -
