Netflix split season 2 up into season 2 and season 3, so technically season 4 will be the Netflix-version of the season which has the Asian mermaid, even though all the interviews refer to it as season 3.

Aussie netflix only has H2O and Mako Island of Secrets. Which/where is this season 3 and 4 that yous are talking about?
We're talking about Mako Island of Secrets, the third and fourth seasons...series...chunks? Chunks of episodes, I'll say. The second chunk of Mako got split into two smaller chunks for Netflix in the USA, so we have seasons 1-3 of Mako and season 4 coming out whenever it comes out. I think - I'm not 100% sure - that not in the USA, the second chunk of Mako (USA's season 2, 3) is all one season, so the unreleased season will be listed as the third for you guys, not the fourth. Does that make sense?

So confusing! Anyway, thank you, I will keep checking Netflix to see if they have the new ones up yet.
Also, I'm not understanding how the h2o girls never saw the resident merfolk of Mako Island. In Mako Mermaids, they've always said Mako Island was their home, so how come the 3 and the pod never met even by accident?
I think they're supposed to be set in different timelines if I'm not mistaken. That being said, any of season two come out on dvd yet???
I'd actually suspect that the mermaids of H20 simply never spent that much time in the water, particularly the deep waters of the pod. And it isn't like someone is always in the moon pool. Since Rikki will be making an appearance in the new season we know they all are around the same location.
Who's excited for season 3? I think it comes out in February, just over a month to go!

I wonder if the pod thought of the three girls, the same way as when they saw Zac.
I don't know if this was mentioned before but Mako Mermaids Season 1 is going to air on the Disney Channel in the US.
Yay for spreading the Mermaid love!

I just read about the Disney Channel thing. Premieres tomorrow. Brace yourselves for the influx of free tail wanting, "mermaid spell" performing, stalking, mermaid loving preteens and little kids :headdesk:

For all of us it was probably one mermaid that turned us into mermaid lovers. I'm sure fans of Mad About Men got pretty ticked about Splash and The Little Mermaid thirty some-odd years ago too. But the more juice Mako Mermaids gets in the public eye the more force there will be for the upcoming Chloe Grace-Moretz film and the more force for a potential Splash remake. A little annoyance for a year or two for a potentially groundbreaking film that exists forever.
Excited to watch Mako Mermaids- I already have my DVR set! :) I've wanted to see it for a while, but don't have Netflix.
Yes this doesn't actually make sense because we now know that Mako Mermaids comes after H2o in the timeline, in which case the Mako pod should still have been inhabiting Mako when the h2o girls were transformed. h2o can't be more than 10 years before Mako as Ricki will be making a guest appearance in this upcoming series at her present age (26), so the only conclusions I can come to are that the Mako pod were AWOL for some reason in the period when H2o occurred, or otherwise they remained invisible to the girls the entire time (this is fairly unlikely especially since they tend to make themselves visible on a fairly regular basis in Mako, and visit the moon pool regularly). We might get some answers to this crossover when season 3/4 airs in Feb.

I think this one is supposed to be set in an alternate universe sort of thing. Different series, different show, different mermaids, still Mako island (though the island itself has changed some too in terms of the appearance and structure of the moonpool). Following this idea, the Mako pod has always been there. As far as I am aware though, we dont yet have confirmation of Rikkis return. We got a teaser with Cariba (and an unknown new mermaid) and that is it. Because 'Rikki' returning has yet to be confirmed (just her actress as a mermaid) there are no details about whether she will be the old character coming on the show, or just the director bringing her in as a separate new character (that older fans will remember as being on the old series). If they do bring her back as Rikki (almost like a younger Mrs. Chatham in the original series) I hope they bring back Cleo too (and if they brought back Emma and Bella so they could finally meet, I will die). Only time will reveal. I am pretty excited though :)
