This is sooo hot Caroline!
Thanks, friends!
I love the way your top turned out, Galene.
Thanks, Lucinda! I actually bought the top on Etsy and added the feathers. If I'd had time, I would've made one myself, and it would have been a lot sturdier. Apparently the maker of this top used hot melt glue to add all the little flowers and embellishments. So of course, the minute I put the thing on to go to the gig, it started shedding flowers and baubles. I quickly reattached them with Marine Goop, and we went on our way. It's amazing I didn't pass out from the glue fumes wafting up from my chest!
Oh, I would never attempt to wear that bra in water! The glitter shedding alone would pollute the water forever. This was just a library gig - no swimming.
Ok, so this is from back in October, so not that recent, but I realized I had never shared the pics here.
My awesomely talented friend Brianna of Brianna Olsen Photography was gracious enough to do my photoshoot and I love how the pics came out!(These smaller versions don't quite do the quality justice, though!)

I had so much fun being in my tail for the very first time and getting to make magic for a bunch of little kids. I never wanted it to end!
Lovely, Opal! You look so beautiful and happy and natural in your tail.
Thank you OceanWhisper and Galene! I certainly was having a lot of fun, I had some great encounters with little kids that thought I was real and I loved it! Can't wait to get back out in my tail especially now that I have some new accessories. Need to get myself a mertender, I live 10 minutes from the beach but I don't get to go in my tail too much since I need someone else there! And OceanWhisper, this is one of my favorite colors!
:highfive:
Attachment 27949 I just did this shoot with Art of Women Hawaii and added the quote that I'm sure everyone sees everyday, but I thought it looked cool.
I took some photos of Mermaid Mutiny :)

I saw the last pic on twitter, so cute!
What is it with cats and mermaid stuff? My kitty keeps trying to rub herself on my scale sheet. Do they think mermaid = fish? Because I don't want to be eaten!
We had another shoot today with more of our ever expanding pod. I have really weird pecs. I do not understand them.

I have some more photos I've got to edit, but I'll probably get around it way later in the week.
The beach was beautiful! Seashells everywhere, warm white sand, and reaalllyyy realllyyy cold water.
I got to swim in a tail in the ocean for the first time too!
All in all it was a great spring break.
Nyx, you have such a lovely tail!
Nyx, you and your tail are gorgeous!! Such talent!
Nyx you are growing up way too fast lol you are looking so much older >.> (in a good way)
Is that tail fabric or neoprene!? It is fantastic looking and I love the painting job!!!
Coradion, your pecs are fine (as hell).
Nyx, your tail is super gorgeous! Love the fluke shape and the scales! Did you make it yourself?

Thank you! It's actually just a normal wave! I extended it with ducktape and Zip ties thanks to Jadestone's extension technique. I gotta find a new way to go about it though, while the ducktape is awesome and it looks fantastic underwater I'm just too rough with it and it doesn't hold up as well as I'd like. I'm not particularly gentle with my tails no matter how I try (I have advanced butterfingers, I can't hold on to anything).
But it is worth the time if you don't mind a little extra maintenance!
Hahaha awwww thank you Raina! I think I'm finally starting to grow out of my baby face, hopefully XD.
Neoprene! Thanks Alea :)
Aww shucks thank you! Indeed I did, this is actually my second tail, and hopefully far from my last!
Gosh, y'all are making me blush. Thank you for all the nice compliments!
Nyx, that paint job is exquisite! You should sell painted tails.

Don't mind me. Just rolling to my next spot for a mini beach Photoshoot. Hope this makes someone giggle
So I worked with this local photographer for the first time. He'd barely done underwater work and only with a bag housing which if you've tried them are so frustrating. You often end up with 90% of your photos blurry because bag housings aren't a tight fit and the lenses have trouble focusing through them. But it's hard to tell it's blurry in the display. So anyway.
We brought a backdrop and he brought spotlights. This was a time for print shoot. The results? I think amazing for one of a handful of times doing underwater, and his first doing mermaids! Improvements? yes. But, I paid money for underwater shots before from 'professionals' who make a living doing just underwater and the shots were horrible. This guy trying it out with way less gear, less reliable gear and less expensive gear... did a much better job. I am proud of him.
Now my strongest poses... because honestly in this case 75% came out blurry and the ones that didn't were often more movement and in between shots. I still don't know how to relax my face with braces haha. And I have a bit of tummy roll going on in some. but overall for his first try with mers I think great!

I think the spotlights really made a difference along with our black back drop :) it was a lot to set up but worth it.
I have more from this shoot I'll show when I get them :)
A lot of the stuff from my shoot I'm still waiting on. But I did get back a couple of things..... The mermaid photos were more last-minute impromptu. The initial shoot was supposed to be for a historical costume, but since we were already going to be near the beach for them, we decided to do the mermaid ones to test out the jewelry.

So many pretty photos <3! And raina I loveeeee the lighting in that last shot, makes you and the tail really pop :)
Raina those photos are fantastic!! They kind of remind me of those beautiful photos you see of goldfish and koi against a black background.
